Really enjoyed Expiry Dating, lots of lovely material for the Doctor and River, a touching ending and it's fun to boot. I think it's probably unfortunate that this has come just months after R&J from The Lives of Captain Jack range. It's a very similar premise, obviously involves River and is also written by James Goss. It doesn't affect the quality of the story, but it does feel a bit less unique, and therefore it loses its shine a tad.
I wish Big Finish didn't bother promoting the Fifth & Sixth Doctor's involvement; it would've been a nice surprise, particularly as they get some good and rather different material.

I've just finished 'Expiry Dating' and, whilst I will say that I did enjoy it, I will mirror what a couple of others have said in that I think I might have enjoyed it a liiiiiiiitle bit more if the cameos had been a surprise...
"Miss me?" "You know, I'm beginning to..." Aaaaw!

Overall a very good set.
It's a shame Expiry Dating extra hook wasn't kept back because it lifts the Episode
However Precious Alienation and Ghost are great do the business yarns as 10 and River better as equals then at the one up person-ship IMO
Also considering this was recorded remotely there's a real sense of pacey Direction to these.
4/5

I must say the second Story Precious Annihilation By Lizzie Hopley is an engrossing entertaining story and the writer has quite the credentials he acting talents in many ranges even Dark Shadows she seems to have a firm grasp on the less is more aspect of River and 10’S RELATIONSHIP....This is the standout tale for me after James Goss opener and one that will get relistening definitely, {Spoiler} Rivers horror of the Doctors suggestion of a digital life is very telling much like my own horror at what he did to River when it first was shown...I always felt it was Timelord arrogance deciding the after life for another
well Done Lizzie great tale

This is a really fun set! I've been anticipating Ten and River together since Tennant joined Big Finish at The Doctor, and this did not disappoint!

Precious Annihilation is lots of fun, really fast paced and a great concept, with some of that infamous Tenth Doctor anger which I think is a first time for Big Finish, if memory serves. The Doctor and River’s relationship is the heart of the story, as it should be, with the former getting more familiar but still guarded. Pushing us that little bit closer to The Time of Angels, put leaving plenty of scope for more encounters with Ten.

Expiry Dating reminds me of one of my favorite films called 84 Charing Cross Road. It feels like a wibbly wobbly timey whimey version of that movie. I absolutely fell in love with it.

Surprise! It's Peter Davison! With a dash of Colin Baker! I wasn't expecting either, so it was incredibly exciting to see, erm, or rather, hear them in Expiry Dating! I also really loved the back-and-forth letter-writing-duel of the first half of the story--so much fun! Hopefully the next two stories will be just as good.
Though I have to say, I definitely think Tenant's performance, while good, is a bit undercut by the absence of those classic Murray Gold leitmotifs. Meanwhile River's Big Finish theme is fantastic and does a lot of work... the Doctor is the Doctor, and deserves more. But I assume there are rights issues involved preventing the reuse of TV music... oh well.

I thought Ghosts was the strongest story of the set. I don't pretend to understand it all, but it's definitely a story structured for a relisten and I'm looking forward to doing that, probably over Christmas. It's atmospheric and intimate with its small cast, with Tennant & Kingston leading for the majority of it; it wouldn't have gone amiss as a Moffat penned Halloween special back in 2009. And I mean that in the best possible way.
Great set overall. As I mentioned further upthread, I think it's unfortunate Expiry Dating is so similar to James Goss's Lives of Captain Jack story in such a small span of time and I don't agree with the cameos being revealed ahead of time. Aside from our two leads, it's those special appearances which make this story stand out.
I think the set probably could've done with a fourth story to emphasise that Doctor / River relationship a little more. Although we get some lovely riffs on it in each story I don't feel as though the Doctor has completely warmed to her, but you never know, we may get more volumes and I'd very much welcome that.

A great set of stories, Expiry Dating was the weakest for me but still entertaining. {Spoiler} I agree with others that the inclusion of 5 & 6 would have been better left as a surprise. Ghosts was the best, although Precious Annihilation was a great historical adventure. Hopefully we get more pairings between 10 & River.

Finished Expiry Dating last night. This one definitely felt like a repurposed Tenth Doctor Chronicles story in some places, but I don’t mean that in a bad way. I liked the style of this story too - I just imagined a bunch of postcards with the action happening in the faded background at a lot of points. I kind of wish the story had committed a little more to the framing at some points, but not so much to take away from the fun of the story or to really register as much of a criticism. My absolute favorite parts of the story were the Fifth Doctor bits. I agree it would have been much better if it’d been a secret right up until the release, but I was still gleefully cackling the whole way through.

This is why I ignore trailers and pay next to no attention to the rare BF post that actually crosses my timeline on Twitter. As for the news page on their site - don't check it. As such, surprises like Five and Six are rarely spoiled.
