I watched the whole show when it aired. The first episode was ok, but way better after The Doctor showed up, yet every episode was weaker from then on. I tried to keep giving it chances, and before I knew it the show was over, so it never lived up to its potential. Now I know the audios take place during season one, but how are they? Did BF do them justice, or are they the same meh as the show?

No accounting for taste I suppose, but I liked the show and I like the audios at least as well. I certainly think Big Finish is doing justice to the series.

Based Volumes 1 and 2, Big Finish do fine tune the series and improve but if you didn’t enjoy the original series much I don’t know how much you’d get out of them.

I tried, I tried sooooooo hard to like it... But it just bored me. I watched every episode, and aside from the pilot, watched once and never again.

Hello again.
Now this was an interesting experiment. In my view they should have promoted this better and had it as it's own series rather than connected loosely to Doctor Who.
The basic ideas were sound, I liked the characters and the performances. With a clearer idea of where the series wanted to go and other writers with Patrick Ness as showrunner it could have had been a new sci-fi adventure series for the teenagers or young adults.
I don't think the BBC were that interested in it. I loved Katherine Kelly, the titles were memorable and the alien threats varied and sometimes scary. Potential, certainly. I wil certainly investigate the Big Finish version when funds permit.

Ok, I don’t want to start a new thread so apologies for using this thread to spring a tangentially related question off of.
I haven’t seen Class, but am very interested in the Ace and Dalek episode. Would I be able to follow the set without having seen the show?
Thanks so much and again apologies if I’m too off topic.

Quite underrated, from my perspective, despite its numerous flaws. While I'm disappointed that a second series wasn't produced, I'm glad that BF has managed to revive the show on audio and fill in the gaps.
