In regards to the Cyberman series, I know that it ties in with Sword of Orion, but do any other audios fit in between each cd or are they exclusively back to back?

It's set several decades after Sword of Orion, so you don't even need that. Cyberman is standalone / follows its own storyline with no need to slot in other audios.

Kingdom of Silver and Keepsake link a bit.
Kingdom is like Sword, being a prequel story to the spin-off during the Orion War. Keepsake is in-between Series 1 and 2 as it sets up a secondary anatagonist who pops up in Series 2. You can follow the series fine without listening to them.

I didn't think it was connected enough to even mention, but alright

So there is something that slots in between then. I ask, because I'm one of those crazy OCD people where I'd purposely not but the complete Cyberman set, and instead buy the individual ones just so I can put a cd in a somewhat chronological order lol.

So there is something that slots in between then. Well, I wouldn't have said slots in-between as Cyberman 1 & 2 is a self-contained story, listening to or not listening to Keepsake wouldn't make any difference to enjoying Cyberman, as Sherlock said. It's just whether or not you want to include stories concerning the wider 'Orion War' narrative.

S1-Cybermen-Scorpius
The human race is about to become extinct. Mankind is fighting a long and costly war with its android creations in the Orion System. The deadlock must be broken at all costs. The president of Earth must think the unthinkable... There is nothing to fear...
Well since we will soon have another Orion story With Lottie Pollard and 8 soon i thought another listen to the original saga would be in order.I did very much enjoy the initial listens to series 1 and 2 but a refresh was definitely in order. What i love about these stories they have an atmosphere a coldness almost akin to the coldness of a Cold War in the vastness of space and the coldness of Cyberskin lol.We have two very good characters Sarah Mowats Brett and the mysterious Barnaby Edwards Paul Hunt(what his agenda is ,is mysterious enough).OK you cannot really take the episodes as single stories but its a great set up.The Cybermen are kept in the background and the sound design is typically chilling adding greatly to the atmosphere of doom and forebodingand ups the tension factor considerably. It is very much a series where you imagine the earthlings very much dressed in simple black suits. Does it make you want to listen to more-oh most definitely.
Scorpius was another of those CDs i found on the back shelves of Forbidden Planet (old store in Glasgow) and thought oh what the hell....and i was glad i took the plunge

S1.2-Cybermen-Fear
There is a conspiracy at the heart of Earth's Government. The Orion War situation is worsening by the day. The human race is sleepwalking towards extinction. Now, the time is right for the next phase of the Cyber plan to begin. There is nothing to fear...
Nick kicks off the action in episode 2 and again as am listening with headphones the sound design is top notch and Nick does a switch we dont follow straight on with the events of the last episode but we move into following a character coldly discarded by Paul Hunt ,Samantha Thorne and Also Bretts former confidante and commander in chief of Earths Military LIAM BARNABY.. All the characters are strong and well acted but Mark McDonnell is especially a strong portrayal in this episode as the one being undermined in his job. The scene of him and Brett discussing the machinations of Paul hunt is gripping
I know its fashionable to knock Briggs(and sometimes with reason) but here he writes directs does the music and sound design and the Cyber voices-to be honest when Briggs is good he is THIS good

S1.3-Cyberman-Conversion
Fear is Humanity's greatest enemy. The Cybermen can free us from it. The Cybermen... The great civilisation we could have been... if we'd taken another path. A purer path. The Scorpius strategy is now in full operation. There will be victory in Orion... There is nothing to fear...
And onto story three... One thing that does become apparent in this series is these Cybermen are cold steel monstrosities not the PLASTIC enemies seen on telly nowadays...am all for the original tenth Planet versions used in Capaldis series recently.Funniest scenes are how to awaken the human side when conversion has begun,i see it see why it was done but it still makes me laugh

S.4-Cyberman-Telos
Now there is a common enemy. The Earth's government is under Cyber control. The only hope for civilisation is that androids and humans can work together. But the Cybermen intend to activate their Master Hibernation Vault on Telos, releasing billions of Cybermen... There is nothing to fear...
after an interlude to visit the parents we head off into the final part of the first set of stories and i wont quibble about Cyber History and Cyber timelines as the history of Doctor Who meant i gave up on that a long long long time ago a lot of it makes no sense but there are those folks who have to make things fit in...i a no longer one of them lol as lets be honest its only a fictional world and fiction can definitely be like Time in Who be rewritten. One thing i think Briggs got wrong is the cyber conversions ISNT the whole point one sounds exactly like the other so if my relative was converted I shouldn’t really know who they are vocally as they would al sound exactly the same i would have to find some other point of reference to discover who i was talking to ok he addresses the issue in partial conversion but..... Its an enjoyable set of stories and gives scope for the second series and a pleasant morning and afternoons listening.will do part two during the week.

At the time it seemed to me that the "Cyber Empire" was a bit of a misnomer in that they seemed to be modular cyber nations, so a variance on the level of conversion could be expected but "within allowable tolerances", that might account for some vocal shenanigans. Handwaving to allow for different eras of vocal performers along with the above plot.

Yes well you wouldn’t want to pay for an actor or actress just to totally obliterate their vocal..well maybe just Briggs 😂

All In all its a great wee set of stories, space politics, intrigue, conspiracy, deception and some good space drama some purely minor niggles but totally enjoyed the relisten.great sound design, some good acting moments and interesting characters.I remember the next set is actually James Swallow that was the writer and he has done some good writing work. For those who haven’t heard this series i would definitely recommend and definitely if you hate dalek voices 😂
