Barbara: "Oh look at this big pile of shiny discs with Vetoed stamped on them."Jenny : "I wonder what they could be? They seem to have been dumped here a long time ago"Barbara: "I can just about make out the words 'Big Finish' and 'Lovecraft' printed on them. Most unusual."

I'm sorry but I have to agree with Audio here. So many posts here are verging, if not actually becoming, entitled. I get that the announcement sucks. But whether it has been delayed for a technical or socially conscious reasons, to start moaning, complaining, and railing against Big Finish that you aren't getting a Doctor Who release when you want it, is self-centred and selfish. You can be disappointed, I am. I'm disappointed that a release I was looking forward to has been delayed. Disappointed that it was delayed so close to the release date and understand that others are disappointed as well, but there needs to be a perspective change for some people in regards to what actually matters.

We are entitled to moan. This is an exemplar of a larger issue with BF in that they just don't know how to handle negative issues. Vague 'production delay' excuses. Look at the abysmal legacy of the infinitely delayed Jekyll & Hyde. Will the same thing happen to this release. They need more transparency if for no other reason than to quell unsubstantiated rumours. From a marketing point of view BF are so amateur.

Oh now we are floating into entitlement territory. The release isn’t canceled, it is delayed. If it is canceled I have no doubt BF will record something new to takes its place. The vast majority of us sub out the range without knowing what any of the releases are about, which Doctors they feature in which serials and no real knowledge of creative teams. IF the serial is canceled and a person only bought this one, I’m sure a refund will be on the table. It not coming out in June for whatever the reason is at worst a minor inconvenience for all of us. Do I wish BF were more transparent and forthcoming about the reasons for the delay? Yes of course but given the climate of protest and upheaval, I understand their trepidation. Moving this release off a couple of months out of respect for the movement Is not a dumb or unreasonable move on their part but this level of anger or aggravation over us not getting a Doctor Who audio really isn’t a good look. Perspective folks. I don't think it's unreasonable to think that BF could have been a little more transparent about this decision, rather than sneaking it out at the last moment in such a way that looks suspiciously like they hope people won't notice.

I do agree with that the breaking of the news was something that could have been much better.

I don't think it's unreasonable to think that BF could have been a little more transparent about this decision, rather than sneaking it out at the last moment in such a way that looks suspiciously like they hope people won't notice. I don't think it is unreasonable either. I think I've expressed those sentiments, along with most people, a few times. What I'm talking about is moving past that and taking stock of the actual move, which again would be helped if Big Finish would just try talking to people. Clearly they feel that this particular adventure, due to a character featured in it, is problematic given the current climate and it would probably best to delay its release. Again, I think that is probably reasonable and respectful. Yes, the way it has been handled is ham-fisted & poorly thought out but we should all be used to that at this point. They have said we will get it in a couple of months. Fine but if you read some comments, it is like some people feel wronged somehow by this move and to me, that just reads like entitlement. With everything going on in the world we should all be practicing patience and empathy. We will get The Lovecraft Invasion. And if it ends up being tweaked a little bit, that is Big Finish's right to release it in whatever form they deem necessary. And I'm done.
