Last quiet Month for me
DW MR Time Apart (I was really impressed with last year 5th Doc Trilogy and how things were left so I'm eager for the follow up)
TW MR Save Our Souls (Victorian Era TW's are always creepy or edgy)
DW ST Downward Spiral (description reads a bit like 42)

My first on-release purchase in months will probably be Missy Series 2. The first series really took me by surprise by how good it was, so why not.

Time Apart Save Our Souls Robots 2 Missy 2 Star Cops Mars 2
Thinking about Omega Factor Divinity - I don't normally pre-order downloads (no free P&P and won't go out of stock, so better to pick up cheap in a sale later) but I do really want to support this range ...

My most anticipated is MISSY 2! OK this is a very quiet BF month for me, but even if it was heaving with must-have new releases, it still would be my 'most anticipated' release (short of a 'surprise' 3DAs of course! )
I simply loved Missy Vol 1, it's totally brilliant - superb, surprising and very varied scripts, great sound design and music, loads of fun and bits of darkness - and Michelle Gomez is magnificent in every line. Did I mention I love it?
Apart from the marvellous Missy, I'm getting the MR (I hope...) and the ST.

All the 2's - Missy, Star Cops and The Robots. I know who Toos is in The Robots, but who are the 2's in the other 2?

All the 2's - Missy, Star Cops and The Robots. I know who Toos is in The Robots, but who are the 2's in the other 2? Round 2 of Missy vs the Davis kids (see what I did there?), finding out what the Star Cops duo of Paul and Priya were up to on Mars (and there) and the return of the two Chenka sisters (and there as well). Toos is just an added bonus. 😊

Missy & Time Apart.
I loved the first Missy set and the character, so am very excited for more, building on that cliffhanger and giving sequels to a couple of stories.
The last Fifth Doctor trilogy was brilliant and I can’t wait for the continuation of that. I think Peter Davison shines on audio in a way he didn’t on TV and him solo tends to be my favourite, though I love the addition of Marc.
I’ll be getting the Short Trip too, but I can’t say I’m wowed by the Alfie Shaw tenure so far and I’m a couple of releases behind.

Missy- of course, the first one was great. The Robots- because, well, Liv. Plus the first one was pretty decent. And the new Main Range because I want to find out how the story with 5 and his split from his companions works out.

Save Our Souls because I like the idea of some Victorian spookiness and Time Apart. The latter because I’m interested to see what they do with the idea of the Fifth Doctor travelling by himself.

I have everything except the Omega Factor release and an unspecified surprise pre-ordered. I am so glad that certainty of my finances has improved enough that I feel like I can follow the Doctor Who ranges as I please, but I'm a bit more uncertain about other ranges these days, and some of the audiobooks that are a very generous blessing for their length somehow try to seem like that much more of a waste if one isn't sure they can find the time.
I don't seem to be overflowing with excitement about this month's releases but I'm pretty sure that's just part of feeling "meh" about audiobooks in general for having a harder time fitting them into my activities at present. Big Finish releases are still one of few things I seem to have to - and do - look forward to, and even if I can't aspire to being the first on my block to hear them, it's still fun to aspire to being the first on my block to download them, lol - just not as much fun as getting to hear them upon release as well.
I'm sure it must say something very good for The Robots and Star Cops that I'm motivated to continue onward with both of them. It says something for the Missy series also, although I still have some mixed feelings about that. Big Finish must have struck an incredible balance between seriousness and whimsy with the first set, which I very much enjoyed giggles and all, but I tend to look back on it and wonder how far it really went to correct a major challenge with Missy from the TV series, which was of course trying to take her seriously.
My most anticipated releases of the month - I may have to make it a point to just drop everything else to listen to them - would have to be Time Apart and Downward Spiral. Even if I turns out that I don't enjoy the Fifth Doctor on his own as much (I am struggling to think of a story like this that is among my favorites), a Short Trip with Sarah Sutton will be just the thing to make up for it. I suppose I can count Torchwood, too. I made it a special point to pre-order this particular release because the description sounded so interesting. I think it's a safe bet I'm going to really like it.

I apologize, this must be little more than looking back at the last Missy set through a haze. Clearly the last set was so well constructed and enjoyable that this deserved more than a lukewarm response out of me, and if common sense couldn't clear that up, a listen to The Lumiat from the new set certainly did.
