I hope, as the extras speculate, there are more stories to be told from Yvonne's viewpoint. Joseph Lidster captures her spirit and ruthlessness and adds very believable layers to that. She's no longer simply a baddie (not that she ever was on television, really) but now she really is someone who's allegiances are deliberately blurred. This is my first excursion into audio Torchwood after only watching a handful of episodes on television (and finding them a mixed bag) and I love it! It'a a real character piece, and is both funny and intriguing. Great fun.

Not much more to add to this from current listening. I still love it, and I'm glad to see that they're doing more "Series Zero" era stories, as it were.

This was a great release that was both hilarious and downright gruesome which added up to a wonderful time. Joseph Lidster and Tracy-Ann Obermen create a stunning team when it comes to giving Yvonne a new lease on life and the direction was absolutely perfect from Barnaby Edwards! 9/10

I wasn't too keen on this after the first listen, but after reading everyone's views I decided to give it another listen today. This time I could ignore everything going on in the foreground and concentrate on the background stuff - now I get it and have decided that I do like it after all. One thing though {Spoiler}{Spoiler} Where's Torchwood Cardiff while all this is going on, are they still frozen in the time bubble? Cheers Tony {Spoiler}And why were they frozen in a time bubble? Re-listening today, I can't help but feel that there are weird continuity issues with this story. The invisible lift, discussed a page back, was just one of them. But, also, Jack told the Tenth Doctor that he re-started Torchwood Cardiff after the Battle of Canary Wharf. This clearly took place before that. How exactly does that work out? I always assumed he didn't recruit Suzy Costello and other members of Torchwood from the original show until the time when he re-started Torchwood. A lot of stuff just doesn't add up for me, continuity-wise. Which isn't to say it isn't a good story, cause it is. But I have a lot of questions regarding the timeline of what happened when.

Is that what he told the Tenth Doctor? Because it's clear from Fragments that Torchwood Cardiff was operating with Jack in 1999 (and before) before Alex Hopkins killed the others - at which point Jack took charge and recruited a team, though still under the command of Torchwood One. After the Battle of Canary Wharf, with nobody to answer to, Jack then shifts the emphasis of Torchwood from "if it's alien, it's ours" to a more general sense of helping out however they can, saving lives, etc - very much the Doctor's MO - which is what I think he tells him? Though I could be wrong...

Though I could be wrong... Yeah, he, at the very least, implied that to the Tenth Doctor. Though other stories do seem to imply Jack had a longer connection with Torchwood. I did think of those indications of a longer connection. But there's still something that feels not quite right to me in terms of continuity.

It's sort of interesting going back and listening through all these, having my notes from later releases handy and seeing if all the burgeoning Committee lore matches up. It's interesting watching the arc evolve, seeing who knows what, who reveals what info, and whether all of it is consistent with what we learn later.
Also, just repeating what I said way back on page one, but I love how much this release gels with Doctor Who Series 1. It's great.

Got around to listening to this after getting it in the recent sale. Very good stuff, Yvonne is a gripping lead. {Spoiler} And I guess we can get some form of poetic justice knowing Barry presumably meets a grisly fate at the hands of a Slitheen little over a year later, given there's a vacancy in the mayoralty for Blon to fill.

I've heard this one a few times as I love the story so much. So funny! The drag queen moment is just a crack up. Hahaha.
