The Doctor meets the real life Medusa and discover while she isn’t actually evil just misunderstood, she also has the unfortunate ability to turn anyone who looks directly at her into weeping angels!

I guess I have a tendency towards sympathetic monsters, forgive me I was raised on Tim Burton movies and Beauty and the Beast!😄 Well whether Medusa is sympathetic, evil, or in between, she can turn people into weeping angels!

For those not in the know though, the Toymaker in his game show persona when interacting with others can have his dialogue littered with game allusions. Referring to contestants as ‘pawns’ etc. I do have this image of the Doctor meeting a group of executives whilst investigating the disappearances of various contestants who absentmindedly state that it’s a well known fact that they must never play cards with him as ‘he always wins.’ But the ratings are always consistently good so they’re willing to overlook the Toymaker’s little eccentricities.

No am more of not answering the creation of the weeping angels story just yet there will be a totally brilliant concept somewhere probably in the mind of someone like Matt Fitton or John Dorney-but Medusans could be an interesting foe-but we had her in The Land Of Fiction-maybe she escapes

Audiences want blood nowadays so a lethal outcome game show would definitely satisfy the masses lol

Who do you think would play the Toymaker when they are using the perception filter before the reveal? It would be interesting to have someone play their disguise who was slightly less obvious, it could be interesting if they cast a woman as the Toymaker’s other form. Perhaps someone glamorous who seduces the studio executives and contestants into playing her games.

It would be interesting to have someone play their disguise who was slightly less obvious, it could be interesting if they cast a woman as the Toymaker’s other form. Perhaps someone glamorous who seduces the studio executives and contestants into playing her games. I imagined a Bradley Walsh sort myself. A cheeky chappie who can put contestants at ease and who is quickly on his way to becoming a ‘national treasure’ The sort middle aged mums adore. Of course, when his true nature slips through he would be undeniably sinister. If I were to write this, I would as an opening have a television executive confront the Toymaker about stuff he has found out which the Toymaker would flippantly shrug off. When the executive threatens to have him taken off the air, the Toymaker would become far more sinister in his speech and tone. Before asking whether he’d like to play a little game. A gentleman’s wager if you will. A challenge which the executive is somehow unable to resist. The game would be the simple shell game. The Toymaker would allow the executive to win a few times and then before the final round ask him whether he still plans to go forward with his investigation. The executive confirms this and the Toymaker shrugs with an ‘Oh well.’ The shells begin to move around at an almost impossible speed and the Toymaker casually asks him to identify which shell the marble is under. Being audio we don’t see this of course. With the Toymaker letting out a calm yet triumphant; ‘You Lose.’ We hear a scream and go to the theme music. Later on in the story when the Doctor investigates he discovers that the Toymaker’s ‘dressing room’ contains a doll house in which contains the now doll forms of the executives and other unfortunate individuals.

The Doctor is asked to guest judge an Ice Warrior figure skating competition. The Doctor also must help investigate a scandal between two rival competitors, after one of the competitor’s spouses injures their competitor. The Doctor also shows off their moves in chase sequence on the ice!
Side note: Ice Warriors are surprisingly graceful figure skaters!

The Master gets cast as the Doctor in a biopic about the Doctor’s life.

In a blatant rip off of Star Trek, the Doctor and the Master are locked onto a holodeck simulator and must complete it. The device is owned by a seedy entrepreneur (vengeful Vorg) who runs a bar and pleasure simulator on the Varos.

The Doctor slowly starts turning into a monster and their companion must be tasked with figuring out how to change them back.

No give me baddies evil baddies none of this sympathetic Dracula stuff etc etc.... I thought you liked Dark Shadows, lol. I was thinking about that as one for the 10 Interesting Things About You thread, I love Dark Shadows but can barely stand vampire stuff - it's got to be the sympathetic Dracula stuff, lol.

That is interesting! I can appreciate both takes but like you with Dracula, I too have a tendency towards sympathetic and misunderstood monsters/dark/grotesque/nonhuman characters!
