Article: Peter Capaldi the Meta Doctor we all needed

Cool read. It reminded me of a story from the recording of Day Of The Doctor where David Tennant said something along the lines of “Matt and I were acting our hearts out and John Hurt just twitched an eyebrow and completely stole the scene.” I love all the actors who’ve played the Doctor but Capaldi showed the benefit of having an actor who had been around the traps, who could bring out so much nuance from the dodgiest of lines (not that Tennant aren’t Smith aren’t good, but Capaldi is brilliant). I maintain that he is the best thing in Season 8: his characterisation throughout is totally on point while the writers and production team are still trying to sort out what they’re looking for.
