I met Patrick Troughton in San Jose, California in the 1980's. In fact I got to spend quite a bit of time with him when he was on a break filming an interview for a local PBS station KTEH. My parents were on the production staff and asked if I would like to meet 'The Doctor'. He was very nice.
I recall writing an article about that meeting. I'll have to see if I can remember where that is.

What a fun thread, perfect reading to cheer up a gloomy soggy British autumn day! Of course, I especially loved Timelord's memories of meeting Jon and Katy.
(My 'score'? 0. Oh well! )

I met Jon Pertwee after one of his 1996 one-man shows. I was amazed by how tall he was and, when he shook my hand, that his hands were like shovels (these are recollections from a long time ago, you'll understand)! I also remember he was signing a photo for me and his fluorescent marker stopped working. What do you say to the Third Doctor when such calamities strike? I couldn't think of a thing. He seemed very fit and healthy, and full of stories (of course), so it was shocking he died that same year. Good old Mr Pertwee.
Met Doctors 5, 6 and 7. Peter Davison was just lovely - laughs at your jokes and talks to you as if he has known you for years. Colin was a delight and enthused about Big Finish, which is always good! I got the feeling though, that he wasn't to be argued with. Sylvester was perhaps my favourite - meeting him was most like meeting his Doctor. He exists in his own wonderful world, I think, and seems genuinely moved when you point out how much his Doctor means to you (and especially my young nephew).

(My 'score'? 0. Oh well! ) I was gobsmacked when Jon called me over & spoke to me asking how i was doing, he seemed genuinely moved by my comments & wished me all the best for the future. Katy squeezing my cheeks i haven't washed my cheeks in 27 years, Jo Grant says I'm a cutie I'll take that Flaming mongrel Aussiedoctorwhofan though he got a kiss on the forehead from Katy, i wish him no harm just hope Bouncer bites him on his arse.

Hello everyone! I'm sure many know this but I've met quite a number 'Doctor Who' stars over the years from 2010 to 2019. These include people like Sarah Sutton, Peter Davison, Colin Baker and Sophie Aldred, whom I miss greatly. Check out the conventions tag on 'Bradley's Basement' to find out more about my convention experiences and memories - bradleybasement.wordpress.com/category/conventions/Enjoy! Tim. And remember Sophie mentioned your timelines which helped her on a Big Finish interview disc. Tim even interviewed Sarah & Sophie, it's his Welsh charm

Met Jon Pertwee at shows 30th Anniversary convention in 1993, true gentleman, i explained how Doctor Who was my escape as i was in recovery from my second breakdown at the time & he took me aside & spoke to me for 5 minutes asking how i was doing. He was genuinely moved that his story's were somehow helping with my recovery. Also met Katy Manning she squeezed my cheeks & said i was a cutie, made my day, month, year, decade. Awesome, so far we have 3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11 and 12 (and the various BF doctors- anyone met David Warner ). C'mon "Jo Doctor" that would be the icing on the cake
Katy at "Lords Of Time 3" jumped up off her seat at the signing section, loudly proclaimed I have a perfectly shaped bald head and pulled my head down to her short height and planted 1 on my forehead LOLZ.. All my mates saw it HAHA. She is a fair dinkum 1 of a kind.
Yes, I have met David Warner. As well as Lisa Bowerman, who was not an official guest at the con I met David Warner at, but she was traveling with him.

Peter, Colin, Paul, Sylvester, Fraser, Nick, Richard Franklin, Wendy, Nicola. Oh, well, if we were including companions, I'd have a list that's a bit longer. I thought the poll was for Doctors.

I had the pleasure to meet Sylvester and Peter Davison. I had a cute little chat with Peter about his times with "All Creatures" since I am a vet by training and I loved the series and especially Tristan since I was a kid. So I knew Peter long before I even knew Doctor Who existed. Peter laughed when I told him I was a vet (I was wearing my River Song getup and the wig) and it was awesome to learn about his experiences of cow pregnacy testing (because it is the nicest feeling when it is cold and you are up to your armpit deep in the warm and cosy rectum of a cow). Plus, I learned that the actors actually performed the surgeries in the series THEMSELVES. Wow. So yes, they actually did do the surgeries with some vets standing by the side and giving orders on what to do. This earned Peter a much needed boost in respect from me since the 5th Doctor never was among my favorites. I also met Sylvester and he is the most awesome actor I have ever met. His panels on conventions are legendary. He does not sit still but is hobbling about on his cane and climbs over people in the audience and chats with everyone. He even came over to my fanclub and our Tardis and had free group pictures taken with us. He took so much time giving autographs and chatted with everybody and he had the longest queue of all the actors- even with competitors like Andrew Scott! And he even recognized me again when I came to have my picture taken with him ("It is you again!" I again was wearing my River Song getup and my wig). He even laughed at my story why I was getting a Radagast autograph for a friend of mine. Because while living in NZ, I owned 3 parrots and they used to climb all over me all the time and I pretty much looked like Radagast (concerning the bird poo) and my new flatmate introduced herself and was taken aback by me. She is however the biggest Lord of the Rings/ Hobbit fan and we quickly became best of friends and I even introduced her to her future husband (who was my uni technician). She always thought I was pretty much a female version of Radagast... So I just had to get her an autograph of the real one. So with meeting these two, I was motivated enough to give their respective Doctors another chance and I slowly am getting warmed up to them. This year I had hoped of finally meeting Colin, but sadly, as you all know, COVID happened and the conventions got postponed to 2021. I adore Colin and I would love to meet him.

So for those keeping track at home, we have...
Second to Thirteenth Docs (not counting War) Michael Jayston David Warner Nick Briggs, Treloar & Dudman
If anyone's got Hartnell I'll be amazed. John Hurt is more likely - for what it's worth, one of my teachers (a newspaper film reviewer) had him over to his house back in the day!

Mostly at LI Who: Doctors: I shared an elevator with Colin. Lovely man. Later I went and got his autograph and we chatted briefly about Big Finish. I met Peter Davison briefly when I got his autograph and we discussed his autobiography. And I got Syl's autograph as well. His panel was a blast! But the best was Paul McGann. I've met him multiple times since he is a staple at LI Who. One morning we were the only two in the hotel's gym having a workout. Later that day my son and I were taking a photo with him, Peter and Colin. When I walked in he saw me, called me his work-out buddy, asked how I was and gave me a big hug and a kiss on the head. I was in heaven. We took a photo and I got another hug, plus ones from Colin and Peter as well.
Other Doctor Who folks: We were at the "Dinner with the stars" and since I had paid for a less expensive ticket, we had dinner with some lovely folks but none of the A-Listers. It was me and both of my kids. At the table next to ours was Jemma Redgrave. She noticed that my son was bored and shy and not speaking to anyone. Without being asked she turned her seat to him and started talking to him. He had a great time and I will never forget her kindness for doing that. I later saw her in the hotel shop and thanked her personally. She was lovely, and was telling me that it was her first con and she was as nervous and shy as he was. I told her that I loved her UNIT audios and she was thrilled to talk about them. Over the years at LI Who we have also met Daphne Ashbrook (shared an elevator), Sophie Aldred, Katy Manning, Sarah Sutton, Richard Franklin, Peter Purves, Nick Briggs, Janet Fielding, John Leeson. Had some nice conversations with Frazer Hines. Met Annette Badland at the sinks in the Ladies' Room and had a nice, short and somewhat awkward conversation. Sat at a table with a few other fans and Warris Husein while he was discussing filming Doctor Who back in the 60's and how things were back in the day at the BBC. It was amazing. And finally, met David Tennant briefly at the stage door when he was doing Richard II in Brooklyn. It was raining and miserable out, but he still came out and signed autographs, as long as it wasn't something Doctor Who.

Oh, Jeez, I can't believe I forgot one of my favorite DW meets. One night for dinner we were seated at the table with Barnaby Edwards. It was probably the most fun I've had at any DW event ever. He's a lovely man, incredibly funny and with oodles of great stories from both BF and the insides of a Dalek. We talked about a ton of BF, including the Classics Range which he is incredible proud of. He's also a pretty good dancer!
I was running the Intro to Big Finish panel the next day and invited him to join me, but alas he was booked at a different panel. He was incredibly annoyed that they hadn't including him in any of the BF panels, and was totally on board with joining mine if he had been free.

I met Jon Pertwee back stage when he starred in Aladdin at the Richmond Theatre In 1975 my twin brotherAndrew was terminally ill with cancer and a dancer friend arranged it. Me my brother Mum and Dad went backstage and he was amazing something my Dad never forgot. I met Patrick Troughton Tom Baker And Peter Davison at Longleat 1983. Sarah Sutton came into the Estate Agent I worked in looking for rented accommodation so I met her there.
