I wonder if we might see a Teannet Christmas special release at some point?

Fry's one was never used at all but the other ones we know of have been adapted by other writers - Paul Abott wrote a Pompeii script for Series 1 but it ended up being a Series 4 James Moran story. Mark Gattis' War Museum story ended up being partially used for The Pandorica Opens (the under-henge) and Victory Of The Daleks. One that did get totally dropped was the Most Haunted one where Tennant's Doc would have been on a reality haunting show only the ghosts were, of course, alien. I vaguely remember reading a rumour that suggested there were around a dozen partially completed Smith scripts that had to be axed late in the day due to budgetary/scheduling problems, not sure how much truth there is in that though. It seems most of the Lost Stories for New Who are more 'lost ideas' or treatments that were partially recycled into other scripts, so yeah there might not be enough to resurrect the range (I haven't listened to any of the existing ones so I don't know how far they went in rewriting the scripts for audio) Big Finish might do Century Falls (the title of the Most Haunted style adventure) at some point, though - it'd be VERY lucrative to do as a 'lost' Teannet story, but without the Lost Stories label.

Say, do we have any idea which writer did the "Alien insect in Queen Victora's eye" story that "Tooth and Claw" replaced?

The original idea sounds a bit ambitious though, so it could have easily been thought up by Russell. According to A Brief History of Time (Travel), Davies took on "Tooth and Claw" after the unknown writer's story was deemed to diverge too far from the commission's outline (which included the Werewolf and the Shao-Lin monks.) The fact that the original outline was so ignored leads me to suspect that the writer was someone comparatively new to television, which in turn suggests a writer from the Wilderness Years.
