Another great episode and I agree with elkawho, it went by so quickly! But that’s the beauty of the episode, you think you know the premise of it, before it soon goes in another direction and becomes part of a bigger story. I enjoyed the ties to Chapter 6 and I think it helps to give the show its cohesiveness but also its glimpses into life of different characters and civilisations. I don’t think it’s the “filler” that some would say and the way Chapter 10 is structured means it’s a standalone that’s very much come from the back of Chapter 9, continues Mando’s quest and leads into Chapter 11, where I’m sure we’ll be digging deeper into the overall story. My only slight quibble is that the running joke with The Child didn’t quite land with me, especially when it was emphasised what the purpose of the journey was for. And I think they stretched the potential of the puppet a couple of times; it looks great but it does lack that ability you have with Yoda or a Muppet, where you can do stuff underneath the camera, due to his small size. His run made me smirk, but perhaps not for the right reasons; I can’t work out if it’s cute or rubbish!

Okay, this week's episode was WOW. As Big Finish Doctor Who fans, this kind of thing is made for us!
{Spoilers for Chapter 11} I loved how the narrative picked up with the action comedy of the Razor Crest's landing and quickly delivered the closure (?) of the plotline with his passenger and her cargo. But THEN OH MY GOODNESS, the surprise introduction of a certain animated character and portrayed by the original actor no less! Loved seeing the different media intersect like this, although I'm guessing that we're not necessarily going to see HER next week (you can't drop a name like that and not stretch it out for a bit)!

Another cool episode, baby Yoda not quite so naughty this time. & some well directed action again by Bryce Dallas Howard. {Spoiler} Everyone's excited by the reveal of a certain character. Not seen the stuff they've been but they were cool. & another character soon to appear again one I'm not that familiar with.

An exposition heavy episode bridged by a very cool action sequence, but it’s just so well done. Plenty of build up and intriguing directions where it can all go. The mention of a certain character has been heavily rumoured and I suspect they’ll appear in the Dave Filoni written and directed Chapter 13 (Season 2, Episode 5). That’s got some potential: Ahsoka isn’t technically a Jedi so I don’t think Mando will leave The Child with her. I think she’ll provide him with a lot of information and it awaits to be seen how connected she in the post-Empire era of Luke, Leia and the New Republic. She was always on the fringe of the Rebellion.
I think Bo’s mention of why she removes her helmet, coupled with Ahsoka’s leaving the Jedi Order are small steps towards what I think will be the ending of the show: Din relaxes his view on The Way and sets up his own creed with Cara, The Child and help from others he meets along on his journey. It’s certainly all coming together nicely anyway! I liked Mando giving the Calamari currency he was given by Greef early last season and I loved the cable knit jumper sporting Calamari too!

I still think the last shot of rhe season will be the Infant in his own Mandalorian armour. Disney knows a good merchandising opportunity when it sees it.

Nah, that’ll be season 3. {Spoiler} Mind you, time travel AND interference in the past via time travel is a proven thing via the Force and obscure temples viz a Vie the Rebels finale.

Have been thinking about Gideon's little cameo in Chapter 11. I wonder just how much power he possesses and how large his Imperial Remnant is.
We know he has power on two planets so far, which are either in the same sector or very close to each other. That power seems intimidation based rather than thousands of Stormtroopers on the ground. It seems logical that he wouldn't amass his fleet in one place, as that's not only unwise for a remnant, but will draw the attention of the New Republic. Similarly, I don't think his fleet or remnant is big enough to have Star Destroyers as again, they would pose too much of a threat for the New Republic to not deal with.
He also seems someone who is very like Thrawn in that he's strategic and likes to put on a show. For example, The Client and the remnant Stormtroopers are ultimately working for Gideon but look like they're almost in hiding and are clearly battered. But when Gideon wants to make an impression he does; TIE fighter, clean Stromtroopers and even his own squad of Death Troopers. Of course we later learn he has the Darksaber and that Bo Katan escaped with her life, with hints towards Imperial rule over Mandalore. Is that Gideon's true intentions?
I think the above is rambling more than anything else, but I'm really curious! I have been loving The Mandalorian and I have a couple of minor issues with it, one of those being how little depth we get to our characters, but Moff Gideon is the exception to this. We seem to have a lot with such a little; I can't wait to see how it all pans out.

Another good episode. However, {Spoiler} are we heading into the dreaded territory of filling in the gaps between trilogies with the cloning facility plot. Was that Snoke in the tank?

Fantastic episode, I think my favourite of the season. Great to see Cara & Greef back, some great action sequences and nice callbacks and a continuation of season one events.
I really liked the hints towards the bigger plan. I think it makes absolute sense to link up given what’s been seeded through the canon in recent years. Assuming it is to do with that, of course.

I think the scene at the end with {Spoiler}Moff Gideon seems to preclude a direct tie to the sequel trilogy. There are rows of those suits of armour (or whatever they were) that Gideon was looking in on. My wild speculation is that he's trying to engineer some kind of Force-sensitive soldiers.
Although, the First Order did fester and grow in the shadows out in the Outer Rim, so who knows?

Although, the First Order did fester and grow in the shadows out in the Outer Rim, so who knows? I think they’re two unrelated things currently. The subjects in the tube look like they’re linked to Snoke / Palpatine with cloning. As implied by the scientist’s talk of The Child and his M count, presumably midichlorian. Palpatine’s Teachings / Snoke’s Theme are played in the background of that shot too.
I think the final scene with Gideon is more of a pet project for himself than the overall project of procuring The Child. They look like droids to me based on their hands, and apparently the audio description refers to them as Dark Troopers. That could go either way, though; there’s Dark Troopers who are dark side force wielding Stormtroopers and also Dark Trooper battle droids. Looking forward to seeing how it all unfolds.

I thought it was good, but throughout I couldn’t help but feel it would’ve been much better in the hands of someone other than Dave Filoni. I’ve nothing against the bloke, and also don’t think he’s quite the god that he’s often made out to be, but I don’t think he’s quite got the chops for live action directing and scripting at this stage. It all felt a bit stilted. I completely get why he did this episode, I just think someone else could’ve given us something truly special and made it seem less like a back door pilot and make the exposition land better.
I realise I sound more critical than I intended. There’s lots to love. Rosario Dawson was fantastic at bringing Ahsoka to live action. I really enjoyed the extra information about The Child. I liked the way Corvus was realised. I adored the scene with Mando and The Child at the end. And I am now very much looking forward to the inevitable Mando vs Gideon duel.
I’m also looking forward to the Rebels sequel and what I’m guessing will be a live action Ahsoka miniseries; you don’t get Rosario Dawson for a guest role!

That was phenomenal. I loved how they just gave you what you wanted to see right in the opening moments and not only made her phenomenal, but *terrifying*. I thought Dawson did an outstanding job of realizing an older version of a familiar character. Moody setting plus exciting fight scenes made for pure visual joy and my jaw hit the ground at the reference to a character from yet another series. I'd said it earlier in the thread, but this kind of storytelling is really made for us as fans of Big Finish Doctor Who.
I don't have a problem with it (at this point), but hopefully this doesn't lead to fatigue:
"I need to [FIND THING OR PERSON]." "I can help you, but first you're going to help me with this dangerous task." "Okay, someone needs to watch this adorable kid while I risk everything for whatever your cause happens to be." "Thanks for your help. You'll need to go to [LOCATION] to [FIND THING OR PERSON]." [REPEAT]
I'm still loving every second of it, though!
