Thanks! I'll be updating the Index in a bit. Lotta new threads since last time, I think. Do we really need four total discussion threads? I get the reasoning for the 10DAs and 4DAs -- those stories are also sold individually -- but as far as I can see, this is not the case for the 9DAs. People either buy all three at once, or none at all, right? ( Trying desperately not to sound, I dunno, persnickety? Is that a word anyone understands? It just seems better to consolidate where possible, and that character limit is a very real threat here....) No we do not. If the stories are all part of one box set, the discussion of the stories can and should be in one thread. This is pretty much what we've done in the past, one thread for all the stories in a box set. We don't make individual threads for each story in a box set. Hm, well that ship has sailed for the latest 9DA, at least, unless it's possible to merge threads. Though it does occur to me that there is some slim precedent--we've got a special thread for NABS: Asking for a Friend. Which arguably deserves its own thread because the story is just that good?

I'm not familiar with Asking For a Friend and haven't seen the thread, so can't state why it has a separate thread if it's part of a box set. Probably someone made the thread and we missed it. In general, we'd prefer one thread per box set, even if there are multiple stories in the set. So I guess something to keep in mind for the future.

I mean, I could remove the single threads from the Index, which would look cleaner (which I like) but would eventually lead to those comments and conversations being "lost" (which I don't like). Ah well. There's no reason to hold ourselves to a higher standard than BF, and they are as disorgranized and inconsistent AF. I swear, they're getting worse each time I turn around. The 9DAs and 4DAs are such a mess.....

The 9DAs and 4DAs are such a mess..... Sure there is. We don't have to be disorganized just because some think Big Finish is. To be fair, I think part of the issue with Big Finish is that their labeling has changed over the years they've been in business and doesn't necessarily have internal consistency. I often re-label downloads so they will line up in proper order when I go to listen to them.

True. But the labeling for the 9DAs isn't consistent with any of their other ranges, past present or future. With the 4DAs, at lease, maybe it's because when they started doing stuff with Tom Baker they were new to the boxset format? It makes me think (they desperately need to hire someone with ASD, but aside from that) they've got different people handling the releases for each range and they aren't speaking to each other.
They really need to completely overhaul both their organizational structure and (as a consequence) their website. Every time I look at that mess I have this powerful and overwhelming urge to just fix everything myself.

They do, but they're a small organization, it's a big job, and I'm not holding my breath that they'll do it. So I just enjoy the stories and edit the download labels to suit myself.
(As an aside, I admit that I find it somewhat annoying the way they re-classified some stories, so that stories that were part of a certain range when I bought it are either now in a different range or both in the original range and in some new range they created - like when they decided to classify stories as "X Doctor Stories" where X is the number of the Doctor the story is about. I find it makes it hard for me to figure out what I don't have, at times.)

Sometimes I feel like the formatting gets screwy and I can never seem to figure out why, or how to fix it. Maybe it's just an issue with my browser? So before I fiddle with it this time, would someone mind glancing at the 4DAs in the Index (from 4DA 12 down) and let me know if the formatting is screwy for you, too, before I start blundering in trying to fix it? Please and thank you.

Or if I (hopefully not!) totally messed it up.

Or if I (hopefully not!) totally messed it up. Looks good to me! Thank you. I'm a bit hesitant about trying to fix some of these issues--the big one being what sometimes seems to be randomly inconsistent font sizes--because I'm not entirely sure whether or not the forum derives its character limits from just the visible text itself, or the BBCode. W/ the font size, manually resetting columns en mass to the "normal" size adds a whole lot of extra BBCode (which I guess is somehow different from HTML?) which would make the index hit that post character limit far quicker. Currently this is only a hypothetical, but unless your mod powers allow you to rearrange posts, if we do hit those limits I'd want to delete all fifteen-odd posts after #2 in order to be able,to edit my third post to expand the Index even further. Hopefully we won't reach that point any time soon, though. And maybe before then I'll also figure out a way to reformat the Index somehow to reduce character usage while still maintaining readability.

The Proboards code can be confusing, because when you type BBCode and create post, Proboards adds extra coding in there. I guess when you reach the point where you need to expand the index, we'll figure out what we can do. We can move individual posts, but they line up in chronological order. Let's cross that bridge when we come to it.

'Kay, everything should be up to date now as we slouch into 2022. Caught a couple of threads that very nearly fell through the cracks, though, so I'm not fully confident that I've got 100%. But at this point any threads I've missed were missed several months ago.

Okay, I'm about to go trawling through the forum and BF News section for any threads/releases that need to be added, but before I forget-- OOT3 has been added and as well as the duplicate entries for OOT2 which I'd forgotten to do previously. Shall we add the Interludes including I, Kamelion? Yes! I'm not super sure where to put them yet, though. For now they're in the second half of the Index: I expanded the Audiobooks sub-section of the Misc. Audio Ranges section, and further divided it between the "main series" and the Interludes section (henceforth DWI). I'm not sure if there should be a general "Audiobooks" category, however, as I think some ranges are kind of iffy. Like do Companion Chronicles count as audio books? I dunno. If anyone has some firm thoughts on rearranging the audiobooks section of the Index, lemme know--I'm more than willing to follow... literally anyone's lead here. .... EDIT: okay, two quick questions-- 1. Is there already a thread for I, Kamelion? I didn't see one. 2. Torchwood 50X: The Black Knight. Um... not sure what to do with this one. For know it's with the monthlies, but as far as I can tell it's the only release with an X -- so maybe it would be a better fit with the SP releases? I dunno.

I believe it was included in the Forty 1 thread.

I would leave TW 50X with the monthlies.

Am currently rearranging some things to accommodate recent announcements. Health ain't great so it may take me a day or two to finish (I'll post again when I'm done). If you happen to see any weirdness in the next day or so, this is why.
