Is this about how real animals behave or the cartoon/ pop culture versions? As an ornithologist, I might give them real bird personalities- 6- Kea- very intelligent parrot, good at taking things apart, very inquisitive, always to be found where they should not be, also eating everything, including lead piping which may kill them; he also has hints of swan (especially in stories like Sandman)- a swan is all bluster, noisy, awesome threat display, villain of thousands of urban myths, but a beak consisting of two slices of soft toast and more likely to get hurt in a fight with a pre-schooler than the pre-schooler herself. In fact, the pre-schooler could easily catch and subdue the swan if she knew what to do. 8- New Zealand fantail- very inquisitive, flitting about, no sense of danger. War definitely would be a duck, one of the most aggressive birds (and one of the few birds that kill their own kind in fights) 10 would be a magpie, a great an aggressive fighter when provoked, never backing down, striking fast and deadly and going after even the most scary raptors- and that not only when provoked, but also when the raptor is flying along, minding his own business- the magpie will not let that stand. I think if I had more time and put my mind to it, I will come up with more.

Very intelligent and inquisitive, full of stamina, goes long distances to catch fish and bring them home in any weather, not shy to show their emotions, like to make a noise (the louder the better!) and show they world their happiness or anger. Very feisty and not shy to fight and cause some bruises with those flippers. Also, definitely love square boxes to make a nest in.
Ruth- maybe a kingfisher. Very colourful. Also feisty little fighters and best way to get them out of a cage (in a hospital and rehabilitation setting) is- insert finger in cage, kingfisher attaches by biting finger, you pull hand out, voila, kingfisher in your hand. For the Doctor in general, kingfishers come in all shapes and sizes and colours. The largest one is also known for his call which sounds like loud laughing (Kookaburra).

However I am trying but failing to see Three as 'Giraffe'. More a Bald Eagle imo, a white-headed and very grand bird of prey, of great presence and swift in action, with spreading wings and 'a mighty beak'!
