Well a story from JIm Grove and adapted by Cavan Scott and part of the Anniversary Listen through. I came to Pathfinders and am glad I did through suggestions from Forum Members sadly it only made 3 series as it’s a wonderful escape away from the usual Science Fiction/fantasy fare I am used to.

It is a very energetic start to the second series...it grabs you in I feel a problem I had with -The War Doctor-THE INNOCENTis it just didn’t pull me in and want me to want more. This Continues building the characters (I knew nothing of the game or the graphic novels) the sound design is amazing and I really enjoyed the updated title theme. All the actors are top notch and giving it their all. this is welcome escapism, there is also a homosexual relationship included in the story(not sure if this was in the original story) this was before BF seemed to slot it into every release. Here it works and it is part of the story not...just because.( i may be same sex attracted but there is overkill too 🤪) I find this a fantastic introduction to the long term story.Action packed, energetic ,beautiful music, wonderful vocal acting...doom laden traps/necropolis deserts a dysfunctional second party of explorers. These CDs are two CDs per release which in turn gives the story time to breathe things never seem rushed the first releases Runelords are wonderful but could have done with room too to really get to know the characters. Well how was that for enthusiasm-bored of listening to your Lord of The Rings CDs from BBC try them out you will probably find a real passion for something not WHO or birthed by WHO.

I think reflecting that is what was missing from The War Doctor-The Innocents it should have drawn me in created a chain reaction within me that made me anticipate the next listen...very much the Way the 2nd set of Ravenous did I anticipated each new listen each new set... these audios have this...what comes next, what comes next i scream. The set up at least this had the back up that the world was created in a game and the story adapted and I don’t really do the games so I will never know how much it differed but this is an action packed listen glad I got it as part of the Anniversary listen through

Ooops Moderators found a thread...can we merge them...and since Pathfinders continues on BFs books as downloads can we get a separate folder for them?

I haven’t seen any Pathfinder audiobooks on the a Big Finish site? Has there been some news that I have missed? I‘d love more Pathfinders, although I would love another full cast series - perhaps return to the single disc stories and then release as two three disk box sets - but I think Pathfinder Chronicles releases read by Trevor Littledale would work very well.

Well we cannot lose hope perhaps at some point like the recent Countermeasure releases we may see a one off special release .The main cast members work well together and am glad to say seem to have been picked not to match the visual looks of the characters and more for their vocal ability Valeros for instance.

Yes they embody the characters with their voices so exceptionally well. It is a real shame these didn’t find a big enough audience to be an annual series, especially as Big Finish don’t do anything remotely comparable in the genre of sword and sorcery.

Well do they push it...advertise it I don’t know is it available on audible etc it shows their true versatility as a company...I don’t know how these financial things work but surely investing in maybe one story a year would show commitment to a product/genre...I probably would have loved the Jack Gerson Tales as a full cast etc,war story range?Cowboy range?Spy/thriller Murder range etc...instead of just Sci Fi...alas who knows but as a total stranger to the Legends I totally enjoyed the action adventure and escapism brilliant stuff hopefully others who come to Big Finish will realise. It is something I commented on in another area selling the product so cheaply is not totally helping perhaps maybe the first three in the range and the rest like season 3 at 7.49 mark. Those that wish to continue will do so.The First 50 main range too when I see oh it’s 1.49 am liable to think man that must be crap...

Personally I'm very glad I picked these up a discount (the early MR too) because I wasn't sure if I'd like them, but BF made it painless to dive right in and find out. In fact, ordinarily I might not like something like this but the casting and characterization are fantastic.
Agreed that it's very nice to have this range to go to sometimes for a break from from sci-fi and horror. I much enjoyed revisiting it and wish I thought I could make enough time to listen to series 2 in entirety. It does pull me in rather easily.

I have a real fondness for the dark and more oppressive atmosphere of the Runelords but I found the imaginings of the desert landscape almost equally so and I know how oppressive deserts can be after living in Saudi for 4 years I could easily imagine the sand for mikes and miles the intense heat the lack of seasons the dryness and thirsty feeling. This was as I have now finished the six tales a great revisit hope you do them all

I couldn't add the "Anniversary Listen-thru" to the thread title, too many characters. I haven't listened to it, but i hope you've enjoyed the discussion.
Next week: Terror of the Sontarans
