Overall I really enjoyed it
I want to expand my comments but more people have got to listen to 1st 2 Episodes before I can and even then my thoughts on THAT Cliff-Hanger may be surprising.

One question then I'm out of this thread and off DW Twitter (per John Dorney's suggestion) until I get a chance to hear it.
So far, is this a darker tone like the original trailer suggested? As much as I've enjoyed the Tenth Doctor at Big Finish, I'm ready for some stories closer to "Waters of Mars" in terms of vibe.

I would even be inclined to place this between Next Doctor and Planet of the Dead. Regards mark687

As much as I've enjoyed the Tenth Doctor at Big Finish, I'm ready for some stories closer to "Waters of Mars" in terms of vibe. I've listened to the first two episodes so far and I wouldn't say it consistently has a darker tone like the original trailer suggested. There's certainly elements, and my favourite thing about the set so far is how it portrays the Doctor; he's got that remorse and angst you'd expect post-Donna and a bit of the arrogance that he occasionally shows, which is in line with The Waters of Mars. However, it doesn't dominate, which is why I mentioned it's not consistent. I think it's worth noting the original trailer represents the range and not the set, though. I certainly think as we get deeper in events we'll go further in that direction.

Oh man, I was going to hold off on listening to this for a while, but if it's this spoilery this early, looks like I'm going to have to bump it up!

well this is excellent first story in .The tenth Doctor is captured so well.Action packed and intriguing and a fantastic ending to the first story...so like the TV show. Is it fun? certainly is .Does it enthuse me ? it certainly does ,Does it make me want more?Absolutely.
great supporting cast and sound design as expected.I am glad Mr Dorney persuaded me to jump on board..I don’t know what I was expecting but I wasn’t expecting truthfully to really enjoy it...and I am .

Right then, where to begin?! Buying Time was my favourite of the set. Brilliantly paced, doesn't really let up or get too bogged down in the 4DAs and The Dalek Protocol any more than it needs to, and has got a nice intrigue building up throughout. The Wrong Woman It's just easier to talk about this one in spoiler tags, isn't it?! I wasn't as enthralled by the cliffhanger as others, The Stolen Earth had already done it (and very recently for our poor Doctor!), but the way it's dealt with in The Wrong Woman is nicely done. You get the opening 10 minutes and as soon as you get comfortable, the Doctor pops up and reminds us that it's his story! I did smile that the cliffhanger was a complete surprise, but actually it's signposted in the title, the cast list and the cover; very well done.
I did feel as though the Monk revelation was perhaps one too many; one of those moments that has been thought of and the story is structured around it. It curtails the Whelan Doctor material just as she's getting into her stride and only really exists for the Doctor to realise he's been dragged out of time and is in a pre-Time War era. The other elements relating to the Monk are pretty superfluous. It also puts what you think is the main story, dealing with Sheldrake, on the back foot too, which I thought was a slight shame as I think that was a really interesting concept and I loved the imagery it posed.
Whelan plays both the Doctor and the Monk really well, though, so it's not a massive criticism, I just felt the Monk side of things got in the way of what was the more interesting story. There's enough to dedicate a whole story to it, so coming right off the Doctor stuff is almost a disservice, which in turn is a disservice to the Sheldrake plot. The House of Kingdom feels a touch overlong and padded in the middle and the relationship between Anya & Merrick doesn't feel as well explored as it could have done. It does make for a refreshing change of pace compared to the frantic opening two parter, though, and I enjoyed the worldbuilding and insights into the era the Doctor has found himself in. The cliffhanger is a cracker and I'm chuffed that this very much feels like one big epic. Brilliant sound and music throughout the set too. I mentioned it in my previous post, but my favourite thing about Dalek Universe is the portrayal of the Doctor. He's got that remorse and angst you'd expect post-Donna. He shows some arrogance and the extent of what he can do, alluding to The Waters of Mars and Time Lord Victorious, and he reminds us that he's not the sort of man that gives a second chance (except when he does!). It's not only the themes that was woven into Ten's on screen era, but also takes advantage of the specific setting. My other highlight is the two other leads; Anya Kingdom & Mark Seven. The pair, coupled with the Doctor, make for a very eclectic TARDIS team and it's been a pleasure to spend 3 hours with them. Roll on July, though there'll be a relisten of this before then!

Well what can I say total surprise enjoyment listen all three stories And a definite relisten value too. David in all three tales was a Tenth Doctor I cannot take {Spoiler} The over the top character full of arrogance and at time insincerityI found with the TV show this was a calmer less manic portrayal-wonderful Version. You can do family drama and secrets without being overly depressing and taking it into soap opera territory . And the absolute highlight of the whole set....the Daleks were in the background 😂😂
Totally loved this set Thanks All at BF and the writers Andrew Smith and John Dorney actors especially our three leads and supports well everybody really 😂😂 And can’t wait for 2

Now just a wee niggle about the {Spoiler} Change of gender for the Meddling Monk into Meddling Nun...being he has seen this before his enemies changing gender Peter Capaldi must be awfully slow in guessing who Missy must be...just saying lol

Just one question before I give it a listen... Well, two...
Do you have to listen to The Dalek Protocol to understand what is going on? Can a Tenth Doctor fan give it a listen without any prior knowledge?

Just one question before I give it a listen... Well, two... Do you have to listen to The Dalek Protocol to understand what is going on? Can a Tenth Doctor fan give it a listen without any prior knowledge? You can go in without any prior knowledge and without having heard Protocol. Equally, Protocol's a solid story, but by no means essential to Dalek Universe.

Can a Tenth Doctor fan give it a listen without any prior knowledge? Not at all. Everything you need is mentioned in Dalek Universe. A Tenth Doctor fan can give it a listen without any prior knowledge and have a great time, as it really does him justice.

This is what I've always wanted from the Tenth Doctor Adventures, stories that explore his character, take him into new and exciting directions, be experimental and bold, and tell stories longer than one hour. I pretty much got all my wishes granted! Once again, Jane Slavin and Joe Sims are fantastic as Anya and Mark, and I particularly enjoyed how they handled their previous encounters with the Doctor in a way that explains things for those who haven't listened to The Syndicate Master Plan or The Dalek Protocol. They're not entirely necessary but I would still recommend them to add to this boxset's emotional impact.

Now just a wee niggle about the {Spoiler} Change of gender for the Meddling Monk into Meddling Nun...being he has seen this before his enemies changing gender Peter Capaldi must be awfully slow in guessing who Missy must be...just saying lol {Spoiler} In the twelfth Doctor’s defence, Missy DID just call herself something that is “RANI” as an initialism, and was more worried about Clara.
