Yep. On my father’s side. I mean, I tend to think of myself as fully English and fully Australian, but that’s the technicality. Where's your dad from, if that's ok to ask? Asking for the several Australians here to see who lives closest. Bulahdelah, just north of Newcastle. That’s why it’s name-checked in my very first BF audio, Remember Me. Where it’s mispronounced because I didn’t think ahead. Entirely my fault!

There’s a horror movie called Alien? That’s really offensive. No wonder everyone keeps invading you.

Nice: I've got friends who live in the Central coast area. It's a pretty area: even Newcastle doesn't spoil it that much

Bit dissapointed this seems further evidence than 3 disc boxsets will become the norm moving forwards, hope that dosen't mean a complete focus on 3 act story structures and the dropping of more experimental/'breather' episodes... That change is odd - I had thought the plan had been for existing series to stick to the same format. (Although search is not being terribly helpful, so I may have misunderstood.) That said, I don't think the "boxed set at a time" ranges ever really had those "breather" episodes; I thought those were really only seen in the 16-part megaseries where they don't need each boxed set to stand alone. There should still be room for side steps within those larger series.

There should still be room for side steps within those larger series. I think its maybe a price point thing. Sure, if we can see them as essentially old style six-part tales with room to breath every third of the way, so no padding. But then, the MR had two hours for £15, whilst the 3 disc sets give a third extra for a tenner more at £25, as opposed to £22.50. It may seem a petty difference, but that's a bit more on the profit margin. Likewise the four disc McGann's add another £10 for the fourth hour. That's £15 for two hours, and £35 for four. Perhaps that's a necessity, so fair enough. Maybe it's more appealing than £17.50 for a double disc release with one story title and writer in a slimline case, to some. It's small beer but perhaps infrequent purchasers see there being better stand alone 'value' in a box set, even if the run time is actually a little bit less. It means little to most of us here, but perhaps they have worked out the infrequent purchaser habits and decided that this is healthier on the books. And of course the 'pre-order' discount they offer via the BF website prior to the official release date is essentially a 'loyalty scheme' of sorts to the regulars.

I’m personally hoping that with only three stories we might get tighter story arcs and less filler. Although admittedly the latter is a very subjective term.

I ordered this and the first set which I’d never bought. I wasn’t a huge fan of Planet of the Dead but I am in the mood for more new UNIT and so I gave it a shot. I’ve listened to the first two stories of the first set and I’m very happy with my decision - so very much fun, I’m having a great time with it and am looking forward to set 2 now.

Add me to the list of those pleasantly surprised by the announcement of Christina's return.
As someone who grew up in the eighties on a diet of ITC reruns (the letter writing campaign for the audio adventures of Jason King and Department S starts now! 😉) and enjoyed that particular vibe of the first volume, consider the second added to the rapidly expanding 2021 wish list..

The first set was one of the biggest surprises I've ever had from Big Finish. It is on a heavy rotation for me, and is one of my first choices when I'm in the mood for something fun to listen to. I'm looking forward to the next volume very much!

I literally can't wait for this, I didn't expect another set so it was a hugely pleasant surprise. Perfect when you want something a little more light hearted and you don't want to think too hard.

It’s a very nice cover, very reminiscent of the original cover for the first box set, until they changed it for a frankly underwhelming cover.
This is one of my pet peeves with Big Finish - the lack of a consistent cover design with some of their ranges. For a collector it spoils the collection.

Honestly i really loved the first cover before they changed it, it fit the vibe really well - yes this is a better execution of the idea than the first cover but i still liked it and don’t think it should have been changed but oh well

A story set in Australia- cool. Can't wait to hear our accents. :-) As the only, I think, Aussie BF writer (well, half), I can’t tell you how frustrating it was to be the only person in the set without scenes in Australia. Cough. Stewart Sheargold. Cough. Phil Pascoe. Cough. Only current?! ☺️

And of course the 'pre-order' discount they offer via the BF website prior to the official release date is essentially a 'loyalty scheme' of sorts to the regulars. Well, if you pre-order box sets, it's only £20 for a three-disc jewel case, and £25 for the four-disc jewel cases (like the upcoming UNIT: Nemesis) and for the four-disc slipcover box sets (3 discs of story, 1 of bonus features) like the upcoming Dalek Universe and Ninth Doctor Adventures. This is actually considerably better value: £20 for three discs with one cover artwork vs. £15 for two discs, also with one cover artwork. Then £25 four-disc single cover, and the same for essentially a three-disc release with individual covers. Obviously, though, I understand that people have various reasons for not pre-ordering. But it does work out at a much better cost.
