After having watched last night for the first time in ten years, I'd maybe have to say 'Cinema Paradiso'. Good choice. It captures the wonder and magic of movies in a beautiful way.

'The fun and the weird', some of the stuff I like can be summed up as 'the fun and the weird'. A cinema near me (which re-opened recently) showed the 2hr cut of it today. I had considered going, but as it was the shorter of the two edits & I'd seen the other the recently...?

I've only ever seen the long version, but there would seem to be a contingent of people who prefer the shorter version, they say that it flows better and is an overall more coherent package. I guess I will find out soon, since the upcoming 4K from Arrow is theatrical only. If I recall correctly, the director's original version was even longer, but it no longer exists, sadly.

I can't 100% guarantee that the edit of it I saw in college was the longer version, but I get the feeling that it was (as I can recall at least the phonecall between him and the older Elena). I can see why people prefer the shorter edit, as I will admit that that I was getting a little 'fidgety' towards the end...

I've only seen the 3hr cut and have no intention of watching the 2hr one - the complete story is so rich and perfect. It earns its runtime.

Its truly difficult to get it down to one to represent my tastes as they are quite diverse. But because im such a geek im going to say Transformers: The Movie (1986) Fun fact: Eden By Annihilation was almost called "Instruments of Destruction" after, yes, that rocking tune. Charade (1963), for me. Beautiful dialogue played by Audrey Hepburn and Cary Grant. It's got the fun and the jeopardy.
