That's sad to hear. He wasn't all that old either. The first thing I saw him in was probably QI, but when I started hearing his distinct voice in Who, I always thought "hey, it's John Sessions!"
Just listened to The Conspiracy the other day for the Anniversary listen-through and he does an excellent job there.
I'll have to check out some of his Whose Line work - somehow I haven't actually seen much of the original UK series!

Oh, damn... I'll always remember him as Tannis from Death Comes to Time. A frightening, charismatic and thoroughly compelling villain. It's got to be well over a decade since I last listened to it, but I still get chills remembering his performance. Sad news.

From Whose Line is it Anyway, to Stella Street; from Gormenghast to his excellent performances/readings of Charles Dickens for The Signalman and Other Ghostly Stories, John Sessions was one of those actors who never seemed to age. I'm very sad he has gone. RIP.

'Don't agitate, guy!'
He'll always be Lord Penistone from The New Statesman for me; a one off character brought so amazingly to life he could have had his own series!
RIP
