Companions are usually in 3 Catagories
The Main Companions
The One Off Companions (Examples:
The Reoccurring Character Companions
with Stranded 1 Tania was not a companion and more likely the love interest of a companion without much interaction with The Doctor
obviously it seems that Stranded 2 Tania will be traveling so she will be upgraded to Reoccurring Companion status
honestly i would love to see Helen and Liv leave and that we get a proper full soft reboot for The 8th Doctor Range
Honestly I feel Helen needs solo companion status let LIV go off for a bit and return later if needs be. Actually I love both characters and am happy for them both to continue but definitely don’t feel we need a third companion when already one of them is under explored (IMO) I found that the trio is just a retread of The tv version of The 5th Doctor, Nyssa and Tegan team dynamic but with the 8th Doctor instead I mean If they get rid of Liv (which is extremely overdue) and keep Helen then that would be good

Get rid of Helen (kill her) & have Liv & Tania travel with the Doc. Oh no we won’t lol Liv can be annoying but I struggle to define Helen in any way, bland & nondescript spring to mind. A completely generic companion.

Well, I love Liv, so I will be sad when she leaves.
As I see it, there are three ways the leaving of Liv could be handled- - she goes out with a spectacular bang, but this would always have to be compared to Lucie Miller. And I would find it anticlimatic if she gets a lesser end than Lucie. - we completely subvert expectations and let her go in a completely unspectacular way, like having her find love on Earth and having her settle down - she becomes a part time TARDIS passenger, so she has settled down, but on occasion the Doctor visits and she joins for a few adventures
I also agree that we could do with a few more Doctor/ Helen solo adventures, just to define her character a bit more. She can handle herself and she can even fly the TARDIS! This has to count for something!

I really felt that we should have explored some individual stories with Helen and the Doctor while LIV was away on Kaldor. The implication in Escape from Kaldor is that the Doctor just did a quick hop forward 1 year in Time but not in space (apart from allowing for planetary / stellar / galactic motion) - but dramatic licence doesn't preclude them having done other things in the meantime I suppose.

I've been so focused on the end of the main range I completely forgot this was also coming out next month! Stranded! Feels like it's been years since Volume 1, what a 2020 it was.

Conversely, I remember being distinctly disappointed after listening to Stranded 1, when I looked up the rest of the range on the BF site and saw how long we'd have to wait. Feels like we're on the last leg of a marathon TBH. it's gonna be torture waiting for Stranded 3 and Stranded 4, though, unless they announce more McGann stuff. I may not have care much for the latter, but at least this year we also got to see McGann in Time War 4 and the Time Lord Victorious sets.

Unfortunately the Stranded range does not appeal to me, so I am hoping for more McGann announcements for 2021. In comparison to previous years there does look to be a lack of Eighth Doctor stories, but then in previous years Big Finish didn’t have series for the Ninth, the Tenth and the young War Doctor, so perhaps I shouldn’t be so optimistic.

Nice! Personally I love Stranded thus far, but I agree that I'd also like to see some more "conventional" releases thrown into the mix. Which, I think, would ultimately benefit Stranded by allowing them greater freedom to do new things.
Though who knows, maybe Stranded will get more conventional as it progresses... not really sure how much the time travel mechanic will shake up the premise....

You know, considering the TARDIS is now established to have repaired its ability to travel through time it honestly wouldn’t surprise me if we got an appearance by that fellow Baker Street resident Sherlock Holmes in Stranded 3 and 4.

Listening to the excerpt of Stranded 2 in the Big Finish Podcast
Either Big Finish recorded McGann very early in the morning before his coffee or he sounds he is so bored that he is phoning it in i haven't seen him this disinterested since The Divergent arc yikes

Absolutely LOVED Stranded 1, and I desperately hope the rest of the series plays that way. They were the stories I've always wanted, The Doctor thrown into regular life.
