Currently listening to part 1 now and, whilst I will say that it's been slow work so far (for whatever reason my dictaphone keeps cutting out whilst I listen to it on it), I'm enjoying it fine enough so far.

Blinkin' 'eck mate, a review of 4 hours plus audio already? I'm barely half an hour in, and so far so good.

Listened to Dead Time & UNIT Dating so far. I was a bit indifferent to the former, it doesn't really do a massive amount, which isn't necessarily an issue in itself, but it lacks the heart that the first set had. It's let down by Paul McGann himself to; not sure what went on, but it's such an unengaged and distant performance. Distant both in that he doesn't seem interested and also he doesn't seem very close to his microphone!
UNIT Dating is a step up. Plenty of heart and character, I really liked how the two time zones were balanced. It also feels like we get substantial enough interactions between the various pairs of characters, which isn't the easiest thing with such a large cast, only 60 minutes running time and across two periods of time! The Doctor and the Brigadier's interaction is lovely and natural in the sense it doesn't actually feel like it's what the story exists to do and it doesn't feel out of place. The final 10 minutes or so is the real highlight, really great work by all involved and gives Helen a bit of depth that she was missing in the first set.

Hard to qualify this one
Very good character wise (middle 2 EPs in particular) but even now at half-way point I'm still not sure what the overall threat in the arc is and crucially why I should care, so its rather like a sandwich with a great filling on slightly dodgy bread.

I fell into a deep sleep something that has eluded me for a week that was lovely. Stranded 2....so I started it and thankfully it’s delivering on the Helen front am just not getting the addition of Andy and Tania. It has mystery and some good interactions so far and I’ve engaged instead of forcing myself to listen as I did the first set...am hopeful 🤪 so..... Dead Time-Matt Fitton. It pulled me right in left me anticipating more had some lovely wee moments added mystery all with that soap opera element I finally felt something was happening in the Stranded universe... and it has the potential to deliver on a dream come true {Spoiler} Wiping out Torchwood 😂😂😂😂😂

I've just finished part 3, 'Baker Street irregulars', and whilst I will say that I haven't heard it since it came out in June, I'm definitely preferring this one to the first set! I will say though, as someone above said, now that we're have way through this series, it would be nice to (finally) get an idea of where it's all going...
I'm having a 'break' from this set for a bit, and will be listening to the finale before bed.

Have not been listening to BF for a couple of weeks now because I just cannot calm down enough and would just not enjoy it and would write a bad review. That is pretty much unfair.
Will wait for the weekend, and see how I feel then.

Hmm.
Not sure how I feel about this one. I pre ordered as a bundle when the Stranded series was first announced and while I liked the first set I found it very uneventful. So I wouldn’t say I was ‘looking forward’ for this release. I think I preferred it to the first set but I just find the series unsurprising. In fact I don’t think I’ve been surprised by an Eighth Doctor set since maybe Doom Coalition 3? I don’t mean surprised as in a huge twist or secret but just an unexpected gem of a story amongst all the bog standard Doctor Who-ness. I’m failing to see the point of the inclusion of Tania, Andy and even the Curator. I think he’s given slightly more to do here but I don’t think he’s necessarily essential to the story, and I can’t see my opinion on that changing no matter what path his story takes next. Hopefully Stranded 3 will up the stakes a little or I think I’ll be leading the charge for a shake up of the 8DA come the next inevitable 16 part story arc.

Honestly the Boxset was awful that I almost fell asleep Unit dating was alright probarly the highlight of the boxset The finale story the long way around was so frustrating As it took forever for anything to happen and the twist at the end was laughable executed
I feel no compulsion to continue with volumes 3&4 I just hope that we get other McGann releases to make up for it

Alright the last ten minutes of UNIT Dating had me pretty dang misty, I've got to say. (And the oh-so-clever Liberty Hall callback, my gosh.)

I think Baker Street Irregulars has the unfortunate task of coming after UNIT Dating. They're similar stories really, but UNIT Dating does it better, even down to the final 10 minutes or so pulling no punches. Unfortunately, with Baker Street Irregulars, I just mentally shrugged at the revelation. It comes out of nowhere, contributes nothing and goes as far to state that in the script, with the Doctor mentioning it was unexpected; getting a character to say the listener's thoughts doesn't justify doing it.
And I don't really know where to start with The Long Way Round. It seems clever on the face of it, but it isn't at all really; all of the interrogation stuff is unengaging and comprised of various elements and discussions that Doctor Who has done better before. It takes 40 minutes before the story really goes anywhere and what we get is scenes unfolding because, well, because they're written as such and that makes it hard to be invested. Tom Baker is the star of the show and even then it's gone beyond the fine line of using The Curator and just writing him as Tom. With a story like this the real frustration for some would be lack of beginning to the story; I actually don't mind that, it just doesn't feel earned.
Disappointing set to say the least. I enjoyed the first one a great deal and thought it was a real breath of fresh air. My concern with Volume 2 was that they were moving away from the present-day Baker Street premise too quickly. In the end, that wasn't really an issue. Instead, it's how dull it is, which I think is the biggest offence you can commit with a story. And they really need to give Tania & Andy something to do that isn't bickering with Liv, giving someone to talk to or just being enigmatic.
