So I wonder if the curator will actually have more of a role in this Boxset Then being a fan bait cameo to lure people in like he was in the first Boxset Still having the 8th Doctor and brigadier team up agian is good
I guess I should give this range one more chance

Kinda feels a bit different to how the Stranded saga was marketed, but I'm here for anything involving Paul, I love this TARDIS team, and I really enjoy all four writers, so I'm not upset

Because this question just popped up on social media. Was this second set always planned that way? As an escape from 2020? Or is that a sure way of escaping all the COVID fallout? Because if 2020 stays a thing in these audios... short of a parallel timeline, there is no way around COVID.
Edit- I personally would prefer an alternative timeline, I am sick to the bone of COVID. The mum of the colleague right opposite is now dying, too, my colleague got the news today and cried all day. I am sick of it. I would dislike for the virus also sneaking up on me in my escapism.
This set was always planned this way. Not sure if you could answer this, dorney - probably too spoiler-y - but has COVID changed anything about the Stranded arc?

It’s the Curator that I’m most curious about.
I first thought his cameo in the first box set was to keep the parallel that was started in Day of the Master. But now it seems like he has a far greater role than I expected.
No complaints here, I will never say no to more Tom Baker!

There may be the tiniest whisper of a hint in this if you squint. But that’s it. Certainly these were being planned and written in something like March (it was my second script in lockdown) so there’d be no way of knowing if this would still be a relevant subject. What I will say is that part of the inspiration for mine was ‘what kind of story would gain from being recorded in lockdown?’

So a thought if Andy goes back to the 70s? Will we see 70s Torchwood and/ or find why they don't follow standing orders and lock the stranded 3rd Doc up or will it turn out the Brig's got some dirt on them? Regards mark687

Regards mark687 That’s an interesting thought. Maybe it’ll just be a brief cameo/appearance to set up that the two organisations have issues/history with one another? It’s a seed of a story that could be followed up on in future UNIT releases.

Although I think their time is probably long since passed.

I'm glad that Mr Bird is being brought back. The only real complaint I had with Stranded 1 was that the Mr Bird storyline seemed to end rather abruptly, so I'm glad that wasn't the real resolution.
I expected the Curator to just be an extended cameo for the first boxset, so it's a surprise to see him sticking around for this arc. I'm sure Big Finish know not to reveal too much about him, so there are no complaints for me. After all, you can never have too much Tom Baker.
The Brigadier is an intriguing choice of character to appear in this range and the idea of Andy taking a trip in the TARDIS is a brilliant one, so I really am looking forward to that episode.
They've certainly caught my attention with these announcements. I'll be buying this for sure.

I could see The Forge finding what UNIT contains in The Black Archive most useful if they were able to get into it.

Each of them seeking alien technology for their own ends.

And don’t forget Counter-Measures the fact they still have a Black Archive in the Nu Who eras means they successfully fought off any challenges
