As prophesised, there shall be another. It's nuns vs vampires, but who has the greater stake to glory?

Buda Castle DOES have one of the best cliffhanger resolutions in the history of ever. Cloisters does have the Doctor in all modesty saying he’s endlessly entertaining.

I think Kate Bracken and Mark Bonnar are excellent in Labyrinth but I do have quite a few issues with the story and the fact it’s yet again another vampire tale. So I’m going with Cloisters of Terror for this one.

I can't remember anything about Cloisters so tentatively Labyrinth but I need to give both a relisten before committing...

Both are good, but Cloisters for me. Also, it has one of Tom Baker's best lines ever during the tea making scene. Cracks me up every time.

Based purely on which story has stayed with me longer then Cloisters wins it.
My answer to your question then has to be the nuns...but only just. 😊

As i said last week Cloisters has the better over story but Labyrinth has Great Doc/Villain interaction.

Actually, as much I lament the fact that Labyrinth is another vampire story at least they try a different take on the vampire mythos. And Mark Bonnar is very entertaining as the villain of the piece.
Considering the fact I loved Loups-Garoux for it’s more mystical approach to the werewolf mythos it would be frankly quite hypocritical of me to slate Labyrinth for the exact same thing. Even if said vampire is more scientific in nature.

I listened to this right after I listened to The Darkness Of Glass, seeming to have missed this one as well. I loved it! I think it beats Buda Castle, but barely. I do like the story in Cloisters more, and the addition of Roweena Cooper as Emily Shaw clinches it for me. I loved The Last Post and the relationship between Liz and her mother, so it was great having her back.

Its certainly harder to judge between two 'good' Fourth Doctor tales. Like several posters here, I think 'Cloisters' was more memorable, though 'Buda Castle' has made a clear impression too. Both deliver the kind of audio tale I seek out with Tom Baker and are fairly analogous to his best TV seasons.
For comparison. last Saturday evening I listened to Hornets Nest 5: Hive of Horror (which unexpectedly was a Christmas episode) followed by 4DA 3.3: White Ghosts. In comparison these two failed to make too much of an impact and were more a case of ticking off the list, two random listens I knew nothing of. I will give White Ghosts another go, when I am more focussed, but It has to be said that Cloisters of Terror and The Labyrinth of Buda Castle are two rewarding listens that deliver on the Dramatic front and also manage to feel like you are in a Fourth Doctor adventure. That's why a vote here is perhaps inappropriate . I would give the former 8/10 and the latter 7/10 of the 4DA range, whereas a vote is one or the other.
I guess this is also why I have such a massive backlog of listens. If something does not grab me, my focus wanders and feel that a re-listen is always a better use of valuable time.

I honestly can't remember much about either of these, except the fact that the Nun story was a huge disappointment to me.

I really like White Ghosts and looked it out last night for a relisten being a Farscape fan I was interested in Virginia Hey taking part and thought it was a suitably spooky tale. As for the other two they are due a relisten as well to give them a fair vote

The problem these days is I tend to multi-task more when I put them on, whereas I need to get back to following as if I were watching, which is what they deserve.

Yes well I have just had a week off and managed to give some stories the listen they deserve as long as my multitasking is just chores am fine anything more that requires concentration I have to go back over the stories.👍 happy rediscovering

I suspect nucleusofswarm is drip-feeding them to us, like a good shot of morphine, and will be thinking about which stories will next face-off from the blue and the red corner.
