guess when you are sandwiched between Emerald Tiger and Butcher of Brisbane you are going to suffer a little😂 Ffor me I came to Brisbane first and a year or so later Emerald very much the fan boi in me wanting a prequel to Talons Greel. it can be a bit of a pity as lesser know title can take a hit.Now am less of a going for the HYPE story and learning to find pleasure in the less explored or heralded stories. Will post more after the relisten
cannot. Believe Butcher Of Brisbane doesn’t have its own thread either

A very good atmospheric tale with enough engaging action to keep you listening and a few twists and turns it actually sits well as three good stories in a trilogy as I said these non related to anything else in the classic series type stories tend to fall by wayside in favour of the hyped stories .This actually has a beautiful moment of Nyssa being abandoned on the comet and the Doctor swearing he wil come for her somehow. But there is plenty in it that will bring me back for further listens now it’s quite an action adventure piece with claustrophobic setting moments which I enjoy and all the Tardis regulars with something to do.
for someone hankering after stand alone tales...this one fits the bill.

I really enjoyed this one. I have come to the realisation that "5" is my fave Doctor Who on audio. This was 1 of about 10 releases in a row that sealed the deal for me.

I might have worn myself out on this one a bit but for awhile it was sort of a go-to Fifth Doctor story that I've heard a few times now because of that. That in itself says a lot for this story.

The Five/Nyssa/Tegan/Turlough (Season 20b?) run tends to be a bit understated in discussions, but I rather enjoy it. It's the spirit of an era, while not following its exact letter, so we get a nice blend of things like Cobwebs, The Kiss of Death and The Emerald Tiger. The Jupiter Conjunction is one of those stories that's really moreish and comfortable. There's the masterpieces we celebrate, but also the personal favourites that keep drawing us back for being reliable and I think this is one of those releases. It's just really well-plotted and assembled. Cosy. It's also got one of my favourite villain exits. It's surprisingly graceful: {Spoiler}{Spoiler}"You won. Well done."

Agree- for me, there was a solid run of about 15 fair dinkum 5th Doctor era cracking stories..

Agree- for me, there was a solid run of about 15 fair dinkum 5th Doctor era cracking stories.. Yeah, and it's tough to juggle four main leads on a regular basis, it really is, but they made it work. There's a nice dynamic here, which I think they managed to replicate -- after a fashion -- later on with the Five/Tegan/Adric/Nyssa stories. I think it's something that Mark Strickson said in the extras for Conjunction, actually, from memory. Everyone's got something to do, someone to talk to and no one feels sidelined. It's all being used to its best effect.

Bit of bedtime listening last time was January when i gave it a re spin. There’s no complicated arc to work your head around just a great adventurous story. Its nice not to have arcs at times some work some dont but standalone tales were the thing in the past before audiences and Who writers becam absolutely obsessed with them.Night Night folks
