An outstanding second part in the Out of Time trilogy, having the Tenth and Fifth Doctors reunite in The Gates of Hell - this time battling the Cybermen in Paris! The cast and crew of Big Finish couldn't impress me enough with bringing this nostalgic script to life!

I see, that's why I want to be first on my block to hear new releases - if you don't hurry the good comments might already be taken, lol.
Really not much I can add to what's been mentioned in the previous posts, the story, chemistry and performances are all very noteworthy and it's all a lot of fun too.
I think I will just say bravo and thanks, everyone - David Tennant, Peter Davison and David Llewellyn particularly.

I will go against the grain slightly and say this was an average story, and especially average for a multi-doctor story. Tennant and Davison are solid, but these are performances that feel like they might be found in a mid season single ep as opposed to the multi-doctor special. Llewellyn has written a very solid tale, but it isn't as good as the first Out of Time and doesn't utilize the concept as well as it should have. Sound design was okay, but nothing spectacular and the music sometimes became a tad overbearing. The best parts were Invasion style Cybermen and Mark Gatiss' performance as Joseph Delon, which served as interesting villain's that should have had more air time.
However, I am fully ready for Wink to blow me away next year!

I think this story unfortunately has a lot of the same issues Ravengers and the first Out of Time had for me. Mainly that it was a techno babble heavy runaround that I forget most of what happened as soon as I finished listening to it. I thought 5 and 10 were good and a few of their lines made me smile and giggle but this release had a lot of my pet peeves when it comes to BF. Also they didn’t utilize the cybermen well in this story. I only think cybermen should be used if they take advantage of the fact that they are converted humans. Here they could have been replaced with any robotic race. It was fun to hear 5 and 10 together as they have really good chemistry, but I just wish the story itself had more meat to it. Sidenote: I feel like the third out of time might be the most interesting because of the potential for an unusual dynamic between 10 and 6🤔

Agreed, the story itself is just BF average, and yes, the Cybermen are a bit wasted. Also looking forward to the next one... should be interesting.

Did something i almost never do anymore and went at it again. Yup. Loved it. I would argue the story is beside the point. You’re listening to this for a pair of charismatic actors sparking off of each other and having a good time. On that end the production delivers over and over again. Plot is vastly overrated, character is king. I would gladly take a box set of 5 & 10 together if it was as lighthearted and fun as this one-off was.

Especially if Tegan was involved & got on well with 10 but was still spikey with 5!

Come on, that HAS to happen, everything else would be a wasted opportunity.
Just saw she is not on the 10th Doctor/ classic companions set for next year..... Why?

She sure is. My favourite companion. Middle of the pack TV companion for me but one of my favorite audio companions.

Thoroughly enjoying this series, and 5&10 spark off each other wonderfully in this one.
It's taking me a while to get through it as I keep stopping to research something they mention -
the Carrières that become the Ossement, the Barrière d’Enfer and who Col Henri Roi-Tanguy was (and how he therefore got a road named after him!)
Just the sort of story I prefer, really.

It took me 3 attempts to get into this, my mind kept wandering off as it didn't hold my attention. However once I did, I really enjoyed it.

I personally found this to be very much okay. I saw the description of "popcorn Who" on another site and have to agree. It's like a comic book team-up or junk food - fun, indulgent and forgettable. I'd mentioned this in another post, but the steadily increasing "let's have X meet Y" approach is making things like this feel less special for me and instead more routine. There wasn't really anything here to connect with and enjoy as unique or interesting. Performances were fine (Shelley Conn's character totally channeling Peri; Mark Gatiss just always sounds like Mark Gatiss to my ears), the Cybermen never felt like a threat, the BF Tenth Doctor musical cue is great but just felt a bit too much here, and of course, David Tennant and Peter Davison have a fantastic chemistry which is fun to hear but ultimately a few chuckles wasn't enough to sustain the story for me.

This one was so much fun. The acting superb and the story simple enough to fit the time and engaging enough to make me listen twice. Loved the time agent too (even if she did sound like Peri in her first scene)
