I seem to be absorbing a lot of negative stuff at moment as regards TV Who so am back to stopping reading about it too much lol so was thinking what has the show actually Got Right -
For me I loved the scene of the cyber ship above the Gallifreyan citadel.
Jodies scene with all her previous incarnations within the matrix

There’s a horror movie called Alien? That’s really offensive. No wonder everyone keeps invading you.

The casting of each Doctor is pretty much perfect. There’s only a couple I haven’t liked and even the the writers and directors have created stories that cater to their strengths.

The temporary redesign of the Daleks and red effects were welcome
the title scene effects are very Mysterious and moody my favourite since Toms first Run

Just make a point of never reading the comment sections. It always makes me wonder how dark, miserable and lonely life under these bridges must be. I have to repeat myself, but I find the recent series really good on two accounts: The music is fantastic and the visual effects are stunning. Who never looked and sounded better. Plus I really like what they do with all the lighting effects and setting the mood with lighting colours. That is exceedingly well done. Or maybe it is just my visual cortex reacting especially well to it, could also be.

12 has one of the most compelling story arcs of any Doctor! Also 12 and Clara are one of the most unique and underrated TARDIS teams and have the best and most heartbreaking romance in all of DW. Last Christmas has the best ending of any DW episode ever! Murray Gold’s music was always gorgeous and often made me cry! Demons of the Punjab, It Takes You Away, and Fugitive of the Judoon are all wonderful episodes from the current era! RTD and Moffat were both brilliant showrunners! There have been many amazing Doctors!

The desperation of the action scenes in Ascension of the Cybermen was wonderfully evocative. No TARDIS, no defences, no means of fighting back; the fam just in the thick of the Cyber-Wars like everyone else.

The asteroid field effects in “Into The Dalek” are pretty fantastic

Peter Capaldi's first moments in the TARDIS were wonderful, some of the best first moments of any incarnation, I think. No words, just ... those eyes, staring!
And then, reassuringly, that nonsense about not liking the colour of his kidneys, just to remind us this startling new character was still The Doctor.

I like his moment with Clara with Pink in the Children’s Home where he is oblivious as to the effect his words can have and she organises the toy soldiers the two have great timing

The way that scene moves from light comedy to the horror of realising that the other customers aren't quite what they seem is wonderfully written and superbly played, demonstrating once again, really good timing. A wonderful scene.

A wonderful scene. There are a lot of scenes between the pair am re noticing as I rewatch...I also had the oddest moment where in Robots of Sherwood I felt Ben Miller could really portray a younger version of Anthony Ainleys Master

A wonderful scene. I was won over by Peter Capaldi in Series 9, when he began to channel past Doctors, more consciously. His check trousers and coat being a mix of Cushing and Troughton. What I particularly loved ( not sure which episode - Magician's Apprentice or Under the Lake?) was where they were venturing down a corridor and Clara was asking questions, and he gave a back flip of his hands as if to say "shush - get behind me" and then he wandered ahead, consumed by eager curiosity rather than caution . It could have been either of the aforementioned actors or Tom Bakers portrayal. It really spelt out to long term watchers that this is the same character, in a different body, but still there all the same. Little touches from the actor that showed his pedigree as a fan of past actors in the same role. I was very sorry that he left, as he and the episodes he was given were getting better all the time. He had three series, but it seemed it was cut short at its best. His best episodes are right up at the top of nu-who for my liking.

Another series with him would have been great. I know at the time Steven Moffat left, there was talk of Capaldi staying on, but I'm not sure that was ever really on the cards.

I definitely agree with you he should have had a longer era! He should have been on for 6 years rather than 3! 😊
