Well, I'm starting to (very slowly) explore some of the original Benny range. Don't know why I picked Silver Lining, though. Maybe it was on sale? Maybe it was free? Regardless, this story was a lot of fun--and once again, in defiance of the commentaries, it's a Benny story where she gets to practice archeology.
I don't have a whole lot to say about this one. It was short and fun, and that's about it. I particularly liked how Benny just teamed up with a Cyberman, who is overall a pretty chill guy. He never attacks Benny or tries to convert her, he doesn't even really argue with her. And in the end, it's Benny who betrays him. It was a neat inversion of the usual expectations, and I had fun with it. It kind of makes me want to see more stories where the Cybermen express some... individuality.
Maybe not much, but imagine if there were more variance in Cyber-culture. Like, sure, they're all cyborgs who want to convert other people, but maybe only some of them are the brats that go out there in battle-fleets to convert by force? Maybe there are others who just sit at home, waiting for willing converts to come to them, or who simply travel the galaxy asking nicely, like Jehovah's Witnesses?

I think it may have been the first Benny audio I listened to - because it was free. I got it as a free download via Soundcloud (pretty sure it's still there). I have to admit that at the time it didn't make much sense to me at the time, cause I didn't have the backstory. In spite of that, it's an enjoyable story. (Or maybe I just think that in retrospect. )
