I guess it's understandable, but just having this story told from Leela's perspective makes it so much more fun than the preceding tales.
We all agree that Leela is the best Classic Who companion, right?
Anyway, this was a pretty solid story. The highlight was definitely the dialog. And the presence of a lizard alien. Look, I just love lizardmen. Also, wow, the moment when Leela was stabbed? Very tense and unexpected. Great dramatic tension there.
That said said, everything after the stabbing was a bit... dull. Not terribly interesting, I guess--it was pretty clear where the story was going, just from the title, and nothing else unexpected occurred. I suppose I shouldn't expect more from a Short Trip, though, right? I dunno. It also felt a bit weird for Leela to be taken by surprise like that. Even if the titular Death Dealer didn't exhibit any malice, I can't for one moment imagine Leela being taken unaware. Or am I just too accustomed to the super-badass Leela from the Gallifrey range?
So, anyone else grab these early Short Trips in the recent sale? Or listen to 'em recently? If so, what did you think?

I liked how this one played out. Definitely one of the best of ST Vol 1

I agree with Kestrel and Whiskey. This is the best ST of Vol 1 so far.
