Oh, man. I really miss India Fisher's Charley, huh?
Nostalgia aside, this was a pretty fun story. Great mysterious, tense adventure--with just the slightest tinge of sinister atmosphere. Though the child with an evil adult's "soul" implanted inside him, with the intent to one day take over the host's body? Definitely something I've seen before, and more than once. Still, it was well-executed here, and while the fact that the story is a bit familiar would be a detriment had this been a longer, full-length episode, in the shorter format of a Short Trip I think it's more tolerable.
The story also goes in a bit of a different direction, with the host basically surrendering to the parasite because letting the witch help him would result in her death. The gimmick with the memory-erasure was also pretty interesting, and the resulting conceit of it being a repetitive tactic.
On the weak-side, while the dialog is spot-on for the 8th Doctor, Fisher doesn't exactly have the best McGann impression.
Also: I'd never had cause to consider it before, but "cookies" is definitely an obscene-sounding word.
All-in-all, a very engaging story. Which is kinda par-for-the-course when it comes to the 8th Doctor, right? I am a bit curious about where, exactly, it fits into his continuity, since Charley isn't present her. Pre-101, do you think?
So, anyone else grab these early Short Trips in the recent sale? Or listen to 'em recently? If so, what did you think?

Really enjoyed that. India Fisher is great at interpretations. Disappointed that Charley wasn’t in it though.
