When Del Tarrant joined the Liberator he thought he’d left his past behind him – the gallant Federation officer with friends in high places.
But the past has a habit of catching up on you.
A man the Liberator crew thought dead crosses their path, now a fugitive on the run.
He brings talk of an alliance, of a brave new future – but is Avon prepared to make a deal with the Devil?
you start one tale you end up doing another...Sometimes I wonder what series I love more,Doctor Who or Blake’s 7.It was a series where you always wondered which member of the cast could eventually sell out the other and given the odds it would be very easy to go the route of self preservation except selling out to the federation might be worse than staying with a group that could turn on you at any point. It’s always wonderful asking why these characters stay together as they say sooner or later your luck runs out.
When Steven Pacey joined the crew along with Josette Simon the tale of the Liberator crew took a new turn and a welcome one and new dynamic in that by the end of the series you couldn’t imagine the series without them both...arrogant,impulsive but heroic and almost a gentleman I loved the character and his antagonistic attitude to Avon.
It is so good in this to hear more of The President played by Hugh Fraser he really would have worked so well in the Televised episodes and the civil war type theme between him and Servalan would have made marvellous “7”.Listening to these tales and and the Liberator Chronicles-how good would material like Three have been as televised?
