Interesting. Looking forward to this. I wonder if we'll ever see an adaptation of Scratchman with this cast? It was ghost written by James Goss so maybe?

While I won't comment on Chris' Harry just yet (simply because right now I can't place how Ian Marter sounded as Harry so I need to refresh my memory before I do), there were moments in that clip were Sadie sounded uncannily like her mother.
Needless to say my interest in this release has gone up a notch or two..

Thank you!! You know, the worrying thing is, I knew about this but had forgotten (honest, guv)! It's been one heck of a day. Great news nonetheless
PS - do you reckon Big Finish will ever get Christopher Eccleston?
You forgot a forthcoming Third Doctor Adventures release, one of the highest highlights of the year?
But what fun to find out about it twice!
On-thread topic, the Lost Stories (both of them) are also on that 'top highlights' list for me. It's a splendid range and great to see a few more turning up recently. I'm excited about ROTC of course, but also 'The Doomsday Contract'.

Loved the trailer. I didn’t think Sadie or Christopher sounded like Lis or Ian to my ears, but they sounded right in the roles and I think that’s what matters really. And of course the trailers are soundbites and not necessarily the scene in context with more substantial dialogue, which can easily change your view for the better.
Really excited for this one, my favourite TARDIS team - and probably one of the most beloved of the show - have always fared quite badly with additional stories, but hopefully this is the start of a season or two more. I’m not actually bothered about more Season 12 stories, as I’m fond of the little arc that runs through, but Scratchman brought my thoughts to life; the Doctor and Sarah come back to meet Harry later on and he comes back on board the TARDIS for a time.

Not only did I forget about the Third Doctor release and its recasts, I forgot that I actually posted about the recasts in that very thread! As forgetfulness goes, that's pretty impressive 😁 And yes, to get back on topic, Return of the Cybermen is pretty much an essential purchase. Still not sure about the Cyber-voices (I was hoping for a 70s variant), but I suppose they make sense given the origins of this story.

The trailer is so nostalgic. Not just seeing the animatics, which visually reminds me of Revenge, but hearing Sadie Miller capture the vocal essences of her late mother Lis Sladen truly warmed my heart. And I do hope BF will add the Return original and adapted scripts and storylines/outlines to our accounts, for us to compare the early concepts to the both the TV serial and audio adaptation.

Hello again.
Just seen the lovely trailer for Return of the Cybermen. What a work of art. No chance of doing the whole adventure I suppose?
What the trailer does brilliantly is showcase the new actors playing Sarah Jane and Harry Sullivan. They are as close to the much missed Elisabeth Sladen and Ian Marter as possible.
It is 1975 once again and this lost story will make an interesting addition to the range.

As you see the characters 'in-synch' with the vocals, you connect them, so they correspond. The fact that Tom sounded 40 again and not 86 seemed to bear that out. Having said that though, I wouldn't have identified Harry without the visual signposting. I intend to lo listen again without the animation to see if they still hold up. Sadie certainly seems to have inherited her Mothers scream/yelp though. I expect she should be fine with the "Doctor! Doctor!" bits too....

Will no doubt get it in time myself.

For what should be a simply big standard Cyberman story, I’m finding this one of Big Finish’s more intriguing releases. Might just be because of the novelty of having new stories with Sarah Jane Smith and Harry.
