The piece announcing this has got me very excited, and ideas have been spinning around my head! Keep in mind all I know comes from the news story the announcement is contained in. - David will ask Quentin to be his best man, and Amy will ask Tom to give her away (her explaining what that means to him will be so adorable!). Harry will be wedding photographer. The reception will be in the Whale.
- The episode twelve cliffhanger will be the classic point in fictional weddings, the speak now or forever hold your peace moment. Either that will lead into the credits or someone unexpected will give a reason Amy and David should not be married.
- Harry and Cody will do a Willow and Tara, where Harry becomes seduced by dark magic as his father and another previous Cunningham have done. This will let Andrew's ghost act through Harry to disrupt the wedding and scare Cody off.
- Jackie will meet a guy she falls for. They double-date with Harry and Cody and it gets awkward.
- We'll finally get Sabrina and Carolyn in the full casts proper, and appearing together. The Son of the Dark Lord stuff might come in from Sabrina's story arc with Cyrus Longworth.
- The Bachelorette party will include Amy, Carolyn, Sabrina, Maggie, Lela and a reluctant Rhonda. It'll take place at the Blue Whale and Jackie tries to join in. They'll reminisce about old relationships and marriages and we'll learn what happened with Rhonda's husband.
- The Bachelor party will take place in Collinwood, and include David, Quentin, Barnabas, Harry, Tom and Cody, with the last three there to make up numbers. It's not like David has many surviving male friends. Burke Devlin will make an unexpected appearance, as might Willie Loomis.
- Julia, Roger and Elizabeth will be absent for some reason, since it's a full cast and there's some hesitation to recast those roles. If Maggie is present, Joe Haskell won't be (probably something about bad memories).
- Rhonda is seeking assistance from Quentin about how to police and deal with the supernatural. Ed Griffin will have gotten over his grudge with Rhonda about Susan's death, but is now annoyed she's working with a Collins.
- One of the characters will be admitted to Windcliff. It's been a while since that's featured in a story. David will have bad memories from his ordeal in Kingdom of the Dead.
- Amy becomes pregnant
- Rhonda gets a love interest

Tom will gain some control over his werewolf abilities. Jackie's Father will turn up, but will NOT turn out to be connected to the supernatural shennigans going on despite some red herrings. Jackie's forbodings about dying in Collinsport will turn out to be very concrete as we will learn that she is fated to die at unknown point. The series will see characters struggling to deal with her looming death. Jackie however does not die, but a terrible price will be paid for her salvation. Rhonda through struggling to deal with her daughters death, learns to let go of the pain from her past and move on. While I know Big Finish is relucanct to recast roles, but perhaps we will see a recast Victoria Winters to tie up that particular plot thread?

I predict we will find that Reverend Isaiah "Heartswood" Trask was, in fact, Rhonda's father. He said he woke up one day in the cemetery as Heartswood, with no memory of his past, and then, later, in Kingdom of the Dead, he was being tormented by the voice of Reverend Trask (the witch hunter) in his head, and was "awakened" as Isaiah Trask by Seraph. And just before he was murdered in Bloodlust he had asked Angelique to help him find out who he really was. Rhonda said she reminded her of her father, and she seemed to have a connection with him. I don't know, I just want Isaiah back I don't think we'll see Vicki (in the 'present' at least) until the timeline has moved beyond Return to Collinwood, since she's still "missing" during that. I suppose they could have her show up and then go missing again.

Vicki might appear in the 50th anniversary special, or in one of the dramatic readings, reuniting with Burke. I'm following any further developments with keen interest.

Rhonda also made a point of asking Isaiah about if he had any children. Not if he was married, specifically about children, like she was fishing for confirmation.
/puts tinfoil hat back in the closet
I wonder if the 50th will be another Crimson Pearl type anthology release, with someone travelling through the Collins' timeline.

David will learn that Burke really was his father -- as was strongly intimated in the original series. (Laura and Roger married the day after Burke's trial ended, and David was born eight months later.) David asks Burke to be his best man, which is why Roger isn't present at the wedding and deepens the father/son conflict that is referred to in "Return to Collinwood."

I also predict recasting.
I think we'll see Julia at the very least, given how Tainted Love wrapped up, with the possibility of Roger (they've used his Rebirth actor a number of times, at least once for a role that would have gone to Louis Edmonds in happier circumstances) and Elizabeth.
I also think we might see the return of Toby Longworth as Professor Stokes.
I also think some of the (dead) regulars from Bloodlust will be back, either with their actors in new roles or with the characters returned to (un)life somehow.

I wish they would confirm David IS a Collins else too much would change as heirs etc. The time line is now late 1984 so basic DNA testing should be available.. smile.

I'm hoping for a recast Julia, too. If the mighty Frid could be recast, I think Hall can be, as well. She's too important a character to simply never appear "onscreen" again.

The thing with Barnabas is that he's a supernatural creature while Julia is only human. It's easier to explain in-story why Barnabas sounds and looks different. The comment in the end of Tainted Love about Julia having changed in some way that surprised Amy and David does offer something to begin to explain why Julia has been recast though. Most of the other human recasts have been either younger (Judith Collins in Dress Me in Dark Dreams) or older versions of the same character (Amy and David).

There's no need to explain in-story. The show never did, I don't see why the audios should have to.

There's no need to explain in-story. The show never did, I don't see why the audios should have to. Completely agree! Soap operas recast all the time--and these are the TV versions where they don't even look alike! Who cares if they don't sound alike? If we can accept a new actor on-screen, we can certainly accept one that we can't see! I actually hate the TV ones that try to explain it--plastic surgery after a fire or car accident is so overdone. I prefer the ones that just act like nothing has changed.

At the beginning of the play, voice over says : "Today, the part of Julia Hoffman will be played by... "

The discussion to introduce a new Julia has been going in for a long time. The last question us. Will they or won't they?
Until then it's only the small group who post and their say..

Who cares if they don't sound alike? Me, if I'm be honest. I think they've got it just right. Stephanie and Alec are brilliant, but the age gap between the series and the audios aids that. And I like how any other recasts have been worked in plot-wise. I wouldn't have touched Barnabas with a barge pole without Jonathan Frid, but through the plot-device, I can buy into it. I LOVE Roger Collins. He's my favourite character. That makes me LESS keen to hear him in the audios since Louis Edmonds isn't here to play him. I'd need convincing. Hard. I've still never forgiven the TV show for the second Burke. *shivers*

Was there anyone else noticeably recast besides Burke and Victoria in the Original Series? Cheers! I loved ... And Red All Over. (Tracy - if you're reading this do you think people would like to see the photos I put on Facebook on Sunday?) I miss the old B&W days of the show. I miss Burke. And Laura (I know she comes back - apt really). And, to be honest, most of the time I miss Roger, Elizabeth, Carolyn, and David. They seem so rarely in it these days. I'm not able to miss Victoria yet as Alexandra is still in the show. I'm on 608. But I'll miss her when she goes. She's one of my favourites (or used to be when she got something to do other than fall for rubbish men).

Was there anyone else noticeably recast besides Burke and Victoria in the Original Series? 'Noticably' not that I can think of. Other than someone stepping in for Nancy Barrett for one episode when she was ill. Matthew Morgan, Sam Evans, and Willie Loomis were all recast - but all after only a few episodes. ETA - Oh wait!! Doctor Dave was recast - I miss Dr Dave. But only the proper-long-term one. I have no interest in the other two.

Tony Peterson. That's all I ask for. He'd be what I'd throw in the mix too. But I don't know Vengeance in Collinwood, how long has he been away in that?
