Hmm. Mark Seven? Any relation to Gary Seven?
(Star Trek- Assignment Earth - the Roddenberry pilot for a show that never was, as usual.)

Hmm. Mark Seven? Any relation to Gary Seven? (Star Trek- Assignment Earth - the Roddenberry pilot for a show that never was, as usual.) Mark Seven originates from a Terry Nation pilot for a show that never was, actually! Although, like Assignment Earth, one that's been given a second life in the EU - namely, as the Lost Story The Destroyers. (But long before his first BF appearance, Mark Seven also appeared in the 1970s Dalek annuals.)

Now there's a name from the past!
I wonder will BF resurrect the ADF?

I didn’t realize it was a 4 parter. Me neither--I'd assumed it'd be like the TLV releases... just a short 30 minutes or so. I'm definitely more interested in it now that I see it's gonna be formatted more like a bonus 4DA release. Hmm. Mark Seven? Any relation to Gary Seven? (Star Trek- Assignment Earth - the Roddenberry pilot for a show that never was, as usual.) OT would never, ever, ever happen... but I'd love to see Big Finish do for Star Trek (or Babylon 5, come to think on it) what they've done for Doctor Who. Not sure how much, if any, Trek material I'd want/need to see expanded, but a Gary Seven range would be a lot of fun--especially if they went all-out with Isis(?) and made her a talking cat.

Looking forward to this dropping next month. I’m very much in a 4DA frame of mind at the moment and this sounds like it will tick all the boxes for me. I really enjoyed Genetics Of The Daleks, so more Tom and the Daleks so soon is great. Fully agree. Also Briggs tends to write best when it's something he's really invested in, and a Death to the Daleks sequel seems almost too good to be true in that regard. It'll be interesting to see how it ties into the rest of Dalek Universe as well...

I was about to reply to this with a long post but then I realized how off topic it was so *cough* notthebigfinishforum.freeforums.net/thread/6956/imagine-big-finishs-star-trek?page=1&scrollTo=287199So, on topic: Next Month! I do hope that Dalek Universe is a success - I like the idea of having a main story arc and peripheral releases/little crossovers into other ranges. It could be neat to see Doctors other than the Tenth get treatment that going forward. It would allow for more great big multi-era stories like the Evelyn-Hex-Forge arc of old!

I am going to have to buy this. Death to the Daleks was the first Doctor Who VHS I ever bought. Went with my granddad into W H Smith, he recommended it and we watched it over and over. Still have the cassette now (in very worn condition and poor packaging).
Will be great to see how the Fourth Doctor is in this one.

"It’s a story that’s very much in two parts (even though it’s a four-parter)."
Ha! Good old Nick Briggs!

A very good 4DA in its own right.
Be interesting to find out what comes 1st for our recurring characters, there's a plot line done and seemly played out here that I expected in the 10th Doc Eps.

I think it showed promise but spent too much time trying to decide what it was. In the end, I don't think it ever really made that decision. Is it a sequel to Death to the Daleks? Not really. Is it a Dalek story? Not particularly. Does it set up the relationship between Anya Kingdom & Mark Seven? I don't think so; each one gets their own story. Is it a prologue to Dalek Universe? It's hard to tell at the moment, but as mark687 said, the plotline of The Dalek Protocol is seemingly played out. Like it was always intended to be a 4DA in a future story that was brought forward because it shared characters with Dalek Universe. It really picks up in the second half of part three and doesn't stop until the end credits. There's some truly great stuff in that last 45 minutes or so, I just wish it had that momentum earlier on in the story. Tom is a real tour de force in this and is on blistering form. Nick Briggs, on the other hand, really grated as Barnard. He plays it the same as his Ninth Doctor and opinions on that have been done to death previously! Looking forward to hearing the Tenth Doctor interact with Anya & Mark Seven and how the events of The Dalek Protocol plays into Dalek Universe.

I've only managed to listen to part 1 so far, but I'm enjoying it enough at this point & should, just about, have it done by the time I get home for this evening.

Thinking i might save it and listen when it was originally intended to, after all the Dalek universe boxsets, see how different it plays for me compared to others. Not like i havent got enough of a backlog anyways haha
