So far we have had The Eleven played to perfection by Mark Bonnar, Julia Mackenzie showing a more restrained but equally wonderful role as The Twelve, and the Kleptomaniac Nine played by the extraordinary John Heffernan.
So, who would you cast as a new incarnation of The Collective?
For me, I want to see one of the more evil incarnations played by Ramon Tikram, who needs a proper starring role in Doctor Who. And then Sián Phillips as one as well, as she hasn’t played a time lord proper, and she is wonderful as more ambiguous characters.

Sir David Suchet or Phil Davis. I’m honestly surprised the former has never done anything for Big Finish as he has had quite an extensive career on the radio. Not sure which incarnations would best suit such actors though. Maybe the One for Suchet?

It would be cool though... well, for the 27 of us here that like Detective drama!

I've seen zero episodes of Poirot (which is a reminder to remedy that) but didn't they adapt every single Poirot story by the end of it? (Also on the actual topic... I can't recall if the remaining eight incarnations have all been called "he"??)

The One would be superior and proud, we’ve heard him sneering at his future selves after all, I’d cast someone like Hugh Fraser - an aristocrat who can be both kind and cruel. Five OTOH is Mark Hammill in full Joker mode. Ten, the hypnotist, needs a quiet, in control voice. A smooth, insinuating voice.

Thought a little more and would like to put forward Harry Peacock as either the Three or the Five.
And Colin Macfarlane as The Ten.
EDIT: and Anton Lesser as Four or Seven.

Morgan Freeman as Ten. A voice that commands respect.

Iain De Caestecker would be outstanding, so good when he has to play a villainous role, has done Voice work before too. But honestly i wouldn’t mind any really, hope as they cast the collective over the years they pick a couple of big (well largeish - not exactly expecting Tom Hanks as the three here) and smaller ones that can appear more frequently. Got a good chance to create a really rich and diverse life span.

Julian Wadham as the One, Hugh Fraser as the Ten (or whoever is the hypnotist)

Can’t think of any specific examples but you’d definitely need a hardman type actor for the violent and abrasive the Five. Although, somehow I can’t imagine that incarnation lasted long.

How long has the character been known as the collective?
(I hadn't come across that before)

How long has the character been known as the collective? (I hadn't come across that before) I don’t think it has officially been stated in any of the Big Finish stories that feature him or his various incarnations but I think the name was suggested by one of the writers. I’ve also heard the term The Numbered get thrown about somewhere.

In the Dalek Universe vol 2 thread I did wonder if Blake Ritson could be playing The Ten opposite the Tenth Doctor...it would be appropriate!

(Although, he wouldn’t ever do it) Considering how borderline psychotic the Five is, I’m imagining the previous Four incarnations consider him a step down (“rather uncouth”) from them. Although even they would have to acknowledge he’s pretty handy in a scrap.

Seconded as someone who prefers the numbered, it sounds a little more clunky but also a lot less generic than the collective imo

Anthony Head could make for a good The Ten. Very calm and serene, the only time I could see such a incarnation being frustrated is when arguing with his former selves. Then quietly apologising to whoever he is with for his former incarnations poor manners.
Plus he has worked for Big Finish before.

Seconded as someone who prefers the numbered, it sounds a little more clunky but also a lot less generic than the collective imo The Numbered, the Collective, the Sequential, the Many, the Multiple... Anything's better than the TARDIS Wiki's technically-accurate "Renegade Time Lord (The Eleven)"
