New UNIT: Nemesis Nov '21
"An ancient artefact, a stone arch anachronistically imbedded with electronic circuitry, is recovered following a rupture in an undersea stretch of the Mull lava group in North West Scotland, a geological feature dating from tens of millions of years ago. UNIT’s investigation will unlock a link to another world and bring them face to face with a new and powerful threat... Deploying November 2021"

It’s good to see they’re expanding on the other UNIT branches instead of solely focusing on the UK Branch.
Looks interesting in any case.

Given that they're calling it, "Nemesis 1," think this is gonna be a mini-series ala Dalek Universe or Ravenous, w/ multiple boxsets?

Finally.
Looking at the release schedule - Nemesis 2 will follow in March 2022, Nemesis 3 will be EIGHT MONTHS LATER in November 2022 (you can bet your life there will be a cliffhanger at the end of 2) and the finale will be in March of 2023 - exactly one year before Harry and Naomi team up with the Fourth Doctor for series 13.
And if it is the young Harry Sullivan teaming up with his modern day counterparts in the 21st century...that does kinda hint at the possibility of an appearance by you know Who....🤔

This is interesting. As range I’ve found UNIT has languished in the “fine, but not spectacular” (at least based on the four sets I’ve tried) as it has a tendency to be a bit unambitious with the characters. But this sounds like a much needed push in a more ambitious direction.
Harry and Eleanor’s presence is intriguing, suggesting a connection to their series of Fourth Doctor Adventures (think those are coming out in 2023? Can’t really remember).
So yeah, I might be tempted to pick up the first volume come November.

Cheeky Companions Intros 3 Years in advance!
I wonder if they are a mix of 1 and 2 Part stories like the last couple of Boxsets have been?

I saw the image on the BF site and my eyes widened as I thought, "Wow, the UNIT/Ice Warrior story I've been dying for!". Then I read that Harry was going to be in it and I audibly gasped. SO. FREAKING. EXCITED!!! Was having a bit of a rough day, but this freaking made it! Can. Not. Wait! Only thing that slightly tempers my excitement is that this is yet another 16-part epic. I was all for them a few years ago, but the 4-box set schtick is starting to get a little wearisome (especially when they're extended beyond that - looking at you, The Robots...). The wait between the first and last sets is such a long time that I'm beginning to feel a bit exhausted by having to wait so long to reach the conclusion for basically every plot line going right now. I'm excited when they start, but I'm only mildly invested by the time I finally get to the end because I've been waiting more than two years since the initial announcement... Still. UNIT, Ice Warriors, and Harry Sullivan. Pretty damn hard to beat that!

Very Excited!!! I've been dying for an announcement to happen, as I had an inkling this was coming after interviewing John Dorney. All of this sounds like amazing fun!

I always knew what you meant to say... )

I have to admit, i would have quite liked this to be an older Harry Sullivan (although i’m not sure if he’s still around in the who universe) and this seems to be tying into the fourth doctor series so i will probably pick this up, seems like a good entry point for the series.

Not sure if Big Finish have already touched on this and I somewhat doubt they will in this (considering said enemy isn’t the main antagonist) but I wonder if they’ll explore how Harry Sullivan might react to discovering that he will one day create a weapon which could wipe out an entire species?
Just curious because they specifically mention this is a younger Harry Sullivan and one who might not have even developed Sullivan’s Gas yet.

They have, actually, in the Subscriber Short Trips story Tuesday, which is set in 2001, although it's only a line or two... where Harry mentions that some of his research has been misused to create some appalling weapons.

Great announcement and I think there's a lot of potential to this, with it being one 16-part epic across different timelines and different locations. I've enjoyed the UNIT range, but the reset button with each set has always been a drawback, along with the reliance on returning monsters. The fact it's one big story should pave the way for development, and if they can throw some new monsters and events in, then that'd be really welcome. Essentially it sounds like a format that's befitting of the concept.
Harry's my favourite companion, so I'm really excited to get more content him, especially as he's not very well served in the grand scheme of things.
I'm assuming this will be post-Zygons UNIT?

it will serve for the gaping hole that No Counter Measures has produced in me.Yet again though for me it’s a case where Bf served them so much better than the Tv versions it’s great we have BF to expand on things we love really and great that the actors want to commit to it too .The Harry bit will be interesting angle to,and am hoping a wee bit of Jo,Yates and Benton too....I mean they are guaranteed they can have a pint at A pub in the Lakes and talk strategy. But yes this is great news...

Ah I see. I must admit the idea of Sullivan’s Gas never quite sat right with me. He might have had his faults but Harry Sullivan never struck me as the sort who would concoct such a weapon.
