So, I was relistening to Lightspeed from Shadow of the Daleks (as one does) and just kind of quietly revelling in the fun of a bad guy called "Rock Lucifer". It got me thinking: are there any favourite and distinctive character names (heroes, villains or otherwise) that have stuck with you well beyond a single release? They can be their real names, stage names, aliases, etc.

‘Hob’ the robotic personal assistant to Josiah Dogbolter. It’s short and sweet and I love how he sounds like Peter Lorre.

And his glamorous assistant, Sally Anne!
Peril Bellamy - who I firmly believe to be a timey-wimey vortexy oh-what-a-tangled-timeline version of Charley, going under an alias. I mean really, a would-be adventuress called 'Peril'?
On the more general subject of names in the Whoniverse, I'm listening to 'Gallifrey Time War 4' and this thread made me think... if the other Time Lords have short, snappy names like Rassilon, Ollistra, Narvin, Erasmus and Mantus...
are they all using nicknames for the sake of brevity, or did Fred's parents just have a sense of humour? Imagine taking the register at time tot school...

Narvin's full name is Narvinectralonum! And plenty of Time Lords have long names in Big Finish and other EU sources: Darkelatraquistahastrad, for instance! And then there's the Doctor's kithriarch/great-grand-uncle Quencessetianobayolocaturgrathadadeyyilungbarrowmas!

Definitely Nobody Noone. Also Narvin and Braxiatel--their NA,es,msomehow just -feel- like their personalities. Even the abbreviation, "Brax," is beautifully evocative.
And with regard to the TV show... Moffat was, I think, especially good at names. Amy Pond. Rory Williams. Bill Potts. Each one is perfect! Not only that, they're the kinds of names you find in juvenile/children's fiction--Bill Potts is exactly the sort of name you'd see in a picture book!
Also, can I anti-vote for literally all of the original nouns in Chibnall's NuNuWho? His "alien names" go in one ear and then, immediately, out the other. Profoundly unmemrable.
