I'm making this thread to ask people what some of their favourite Big Finish releases are that they think deserve more recognition.
I'll start by saying Dark Shadows: Beyond The Grave. A great horror story that is genuinely the scariest thing Big Finish has ever produced, it was my first dip into Dark Shadows and hooked me completely!

The Wormery. Back in 2003, I had a subscription that covered this story, and the preceding one, Zagreus. After having gotten into BF via the 8th Doctor stories, and the culmination of the previous series worth of stories in Neverland, my anticipation for Zagreus was over the top. And my initial impression of the story was that it was an ambitious, jumbled mess. Further listens have softened that stance.
But in the same delivery came The Wormery. My first exposure to Iris. A great story for old Sixie, and a wonderful coda. Given it’s place in history, I always think of it as under appreciated, but a fantastic story that I would easily recommend.

The Star Cops series. Yes, for those of us who bought it we know how good it is, but I get the impression that it is sat outside of the main BF output and more people should give it a whirl.

The Wormery is very underrated and definitely under appreciated... The Wormery is filed away in the 'classic story' section of my Doctor Who Main Range filing cabinet! I love it... and once you hear that tune you just can't get it out of your head.
FWIW, I was a subscriber back then and The Wormery CD arrived about two or three weeks before Zagreus, making The Wormery the 50th Main Range release! (That's one for a future Big Finish Trivial Pursuit game.)

Not sure if this counts as ‘Under Appreciated’ but I really think Shield of the Jotunn was a great story that needs more attention. It’s a great outing for Mrs Clarke and the Sixth Doctor and the imagery in it is truly outstanding.

For me, under appreciated, and in regards to this BF Official tweet..
Main/Monthly range #174, 5th Doctor " Prisoners Of Fate" .. The reveal of who the "big bad" is stopped me in my tracks, I did not see that coming. This is 1 of my top 5 of all time, definitely under appreciated BF stories..
phew!

Casuality mentioned this one in another thread but I really do consider The Iron Maid (by the equally as unappreciated writer John Pritchard) an underrated classic with a really unique approach to time. A bit in the vein of Sapphire and Steel now that I think about it.
From the Third Doctor Adventures, I also feel The Havoc of Empires (Andy Lane) is under appreciated. Richard Franklin and Katy Manning have some wonderful chemistry together and although it might not have the most exciting of synopsises, the setting is very rich in detail and it has some great side characters.

I know I’ve mentioned this in another thread but personally I think the Drashani Trilogy starting with The Burning Prince (John Dorney) and ending with The Shadow Heart (Jonathan Morris) is rather under appreciated and unfortunately sadly forgotten. With the latter only being remembered for being the debut of a certain bounty Hunter.
It’s a rather bleak but very engaging trilogy that deserves more love in my opinion.

Perhaps a bit overshadowed by Klein's amazing first trilogy, sandwiched in her second trilogy is Starlight Robbery. It's a good story, shows us a view inside Sontaran military 'culture' - and I do like Garundle in this one.
And it answers one of those timeless fan questions - if Sontarans fought Daleks, who would win?

I’m not sure about under appreciated, as I don’t think it was poorly thought of, but Pretty Lies from The War Doctor: Casualties of War. I think it was overlooked compared to the two Leela episodes and general thoughts on the range now it had finished, but I think it’s fantastic. It’s an interesting take on the media with a Time War slant, the script is great, it’s a fascinating insight into the War Doctor, John Hurt is excellent and I adore his scene with Mark Elstob. It’s also a nice retrospective climax of sorts to the Doctor & Ollistra’s relationship that is built up in the previous sets.
