This was a fun story. Nothing more, nothing less.

This did exactly what I expected, which is not a slight. It was great fun, even the am-dram acting from Briggs didn't put me off.

This was so much fun! I don't think I've laughed at a Doctor Who story this much in a long time. (Laughing with it, not at it. )

I didn't like this one very much. It felt like something that'd you would see in the Matt Smith Era. It also reminded me of how much I don't really like the post-Hinchcliffe era of Doctor Who AKA the Graham Williams era. All zany humour over story is not really my cup-of-tea most of the time. It's just my opinion.

I thought this was fun. I didn't get as much out of it as I'd have liked, but I had a good time listening to it. I felt as though it's missing something that I can't quite put my finger on. It could've done with shaving off 25 minutes or so of the running time too, as it seems to lose some steam with each part, most likely due to the 30+ minute running time.
The above reads more negative than I intended. It's very much a welcome addition to Season 17 and there's a cracking offbeat season-within-a-season to be had with City of Death, Shada, The Romance of Crime, The English Way of Death, The Well-Mannered War and now The Doomsday Contract!

The rarest of rare species in the Whoniverse - a 'Doctor Who' comedy which is comedy, wholly comedy and nothing but comedy! My unanimous verdict: brilliant!
Great casting, splendidly OTT performances (with only K-9 and Romana able to keep it 'straight' and did I just hear even Romana make a flippant remark in the face of imminent peril? I did, you know! ) and all round fun. So many one-liners and nods to other great works - the 'Genesis of the Daleks' misquote was my favourite but there were so many - and a plot which did actually make sense running through it all. (That's "sense" as in allowing for giant murderous drunken slugs and similar... Which I was more than happy to do!)
So Series 6 took us From Season alt-12 to Season 17 in a single bound, how wonderful that these two formerly Lost Stories are no longer lost. I loved them both.
Well done the original writers and all at BF! 5* each, they richly deserve it.

That's easy, the answer is...
{Spoiler} a maximum of 41.5 (Since the season started on the first Saturday of September and it should have finished with six weeks of 'Shada'. Those mice had better build another supercomputer... )

The Sixth-Month Anarchy (preferred name: George) living the vagrant life of lost time on the claw of the Crab Nebula, ended up nesting, rather implausibly, in the engine core of the Heart of Gold's Infinite Improbability Drive. A mathematical irregularity on its systems that caused one of the fundamental physical laws of our universe, the Law of Return Policies, to gift us with The Doomsday Contract more than four decades after its conception. Easy.

Easy. Now why didn't I think of that? It's so obvious now you explain it. In fact, on careful recalculation I find that the odds in favour of it happening just as you describe were, predictably enough, infinity-1

This is such a great idea that I decided it was the perfect time to finally enjoy those three NAs I've been 'saving'... Season 17+ here I come! Enjoy! Cheers! I already made a start with 'The Romance of Crime' and enjoyed it loads. I was too serious about 'Doctor Who' to really enjoy S17 when it went out in 79/80, silly young fan that I was. Now, I'm old enough to know better and I love the lighter side of Who, too.

Just a quick first impression - I'm glad this one didn't make it to screen because the pictures are soooo much better in my head. Scorpios having so many sleeves he must at least have an arm up one of them...
BBC Special Effects would have been going potty trying to do this one. No wonder they had to 'cut down the effects' or cut out whole ideas because of the budget.
I only came up with a couple of ways the Doctor could have avoided admitting he'd been on Earth at the relevant time period, so no Miliways meals for me...

Hmm. I had not planned on getting this, but all these positive reactions swayed me. I think this might be something lighthearted which I might enjoy.

Fun, for the sake of having fun, with extra fun on top. And evil evil-doing evildoers and deadly assassins. But fun ones.

So far I would say...this is the best release of the year so far... Certainly a strong contender along with 'Return of the Cybermen'. Two more Tom classics, and again not part of his own 4DAs range.

This was fun and very well acted and Lalla was pitch perfect in this.Paul Panting was brilliant, was a great guest cast. And Agree both great releases and relistenable.Look forward to the Philip Hinchcliffe release.
