DW MR 041 Nekromanteia it's considered the Dark Age of Big Finish, and its author was, at Peter Davison's request, never hired to write for Doctor Who ever again. Are you sure? its true its the 1st to get negative feedback from Cast but I not sure it was Davison who said it was either Jason Haigh Ellery John Anisworth or possibly Nicola Bryant Regards mark687

{Spoiler one fav lines } Ace on her 'cloak and dagger' life with the Doctor: "It's been anorak and baseball bat a few times, Panama hat and jelly baby. Hello again
My heartiest congrats and best wishes to those who have embarked on the Johnhurtdoctor Challenge.
I don't have anything like the complete main range so I tend to do companion based relistens. Currently on a Nyssa relisten. Having seen t.v. seasons 19 and 20, I'm glad we have these 5th Doctor and Nyssa stories.
In the early releases, I liked Winter for the Adept, The Mutant Phase, Spare Parts and Creatures of Beauty.
All the best folks...

Doctor Who: The Twilight Kingdom 5/10 i like the 8th dr just not a big fan of Charley So this rewatch has approached the point where there are gaps in the Index (first gap: MR 053) so This grand endeavor may prove an opportunity to fill in some of them with new discussion threads, if y'all have anything to say.

Ok, I haven't been on here in over a week, and a lot of listening has been done. Here I go. 11) The Apocalypse Element: I feel like this was the first time BF tried to go with big, epic story-telling with a very mixed outcome. There are some truly bright spots here. Colin is strong, as always, and I even like Lala Ward in this. She actually sounds like she's acting, and not just bored by it all. There are a lot of good ideas in it and I think it could be a very strong story, but the pacing and execution are a bit of a mess. And boy, it's just LOUD. 5/10 for me.
12) The Fires of Vulcan: I've always liked this one a lot, and I continue to do so. But I do think the Doctor is too quick to give up here. I get that his time with Mel is before he becomes the master manipulator, but he's such a pessimist in this. Great use of Mel in this one. One of Seven's early successes. 8/10
13) The Shadow of the Scourge: I hated this one the first time I heard it, so I was quite surprised by how much I liked it this time. I really like the use of Benny and I wish they had used her more in the early days of the MR. She's very different here than in here own range. 6/10
14) The Holy Terror: Great story, and thoroughly mad! Love it, although it feels long in places. A BF classic. 9/10
15) The Mutant Phase: Another early Dalek story that just didn't hit quite right for me. Again, a lot of good story ideas and good performances, and I don't dislike it. It's a much better outing for Five and Nyssa than their last, that's for sure. 5/10
16) Storm Warning: What can I say that hasn't been said. BF entering what was, at the time, the ongoing story of the Doctor, rather than going back to the past. Great intro to Charley, and a nice intro to Eight on audio. Not nearly his best, but a very good start. 8/10
17) Sword of Orion: I know some people love this story, I just find it ok. 6/10
18) The Stones of Venice: Another one that I hated but have warmed up to a bit. Still not anywhere near the top of the range for me. 5/10
19) Minuet in Hell: When I started this listen-thru I told myself that to do it right I needed to listen to every release, even the ones I hate and usually never return to. This is probably in my top 3 most hated BF releases ever. I never even finished it on first listen, and I was so offended by it that I have never returned to it. After listening the entire way through, my opinion of it has not changed. It's terrible. Worse than terrible. When a story can show women being kidnapped for use as sex slaves as only a minor inconvenience to the characters, I don't believe there is anything that can be redeemable. The accents, characters and story are all silly at best, offensive at worst. The Doctor and The Brig are useless and wasted. I have nothing good to say about this one. 0/10
20) Loups-Garoux: Above average story for Five, and after the last story, this one shines. Great to have Turlough in this, and I like what they do with him. Interesting take on the werewolf legend. 7/10
21) Dust Breeding: Never been much of a fan, although it isn't terrible. I wish Beevers had gotten better material as our intro to the Master on audio. 5/10
22) Bloodtide: I like this one more and more each time I hear it. Maggie Stables is great here. The only thing that really bothers me in this is the performance by the woman playing Greta. I don't like her at all, and her accent drives me a bit crazy. 7/10
That's where I am now folks. Project: Twilight up next!

I’ve fallen way behind.
5. The Fearmonger
Seven and Ace make their MR debut in some style. I wasn’t expecting much of this but was very pleasantly surprised.

Great, but not ANOTHER 50% off the first 100 stories! Come on Big Finish, let's get stuck in to 101 - 150.

World Record Breaking Range They're celebrating a range THEY CANCELLED?!!
They could have had an even longer record if they'd kept the range going... just imagine.
