It sounds fantastic
I know some people won't be happy that Jamie has a big focus again but as the description says he is such an integral part of that era.
And I am so happy Elliott Chapman is taking part as Ben again. And more Polly is always a great thing too.
Actually I am just happy there is another season 4 story. From the sounds of it we will also get a Victoria & Zoe story as well.

I always find it hard to understand that viewpoint myself, people say the same about 7th Doc and Ace, but I doubt they'd make it if full 3rd Doc and UNIT, or 4th Doc and Sarah Jane stories were still possible.

Regards mark687 Well when you consider how few Troughton stories don't have Jamie in them, BF have surely pretty much got the ratio right.

Regards mark687 Well when you consider how few Troughton stories don't have Jamie in them, BF have surely pretty much got the ratio right. Counting the Short Trips audios, you're spot on, because there are a few Jamie-less stories hidden in there (he might just be right out of frame in some of them, but nevertheless that's what they are), but the vast majority have Jamie, echoing the classic series' 30:1 ratio nicely. As for me, I am not as tired of Jamie and the Second Doctor as I am of Ace and the Seventh Doctor for a few reasons: 1) There's not much you can do with Jamie outside of his TARDIS travels, whereas Ace is not bound within the confines of Doctor Who. 2) There aren't as many stories with Two as with Seven, or as many with Jamie as with Ace. 3) Fraser Hines is so often the voice of the Doctor that I understand it makes far more sense to have him than not. That being said I still think Ace is fab so what do I know.

this sounds like an early adventure more than a companion chronicle which i would prefer but i think i will get it either way

I think it's going to be like some of the CC two-handers, so rather than a narrated piece it will probably be a story with *just* the 3 companions and Jamie voicing the Doctor and no other characters.

It's intresting that Eillot Chapman is in this box set, however. I'd thought for sure he'd be an Early Adventures exclusive for quite awhile before branching out into the Companion Chronicles.

"The Mouthless Dead"
A New Series title, if ever there was one.

Really? I would have put money on him being in this set. Damn - we could have had a bet beforehand...

Better that we didn't I'm not really complaining - I thought Eillot Chapman's performance was briliant incredibly faithful to Michael Craze's performance while still making the role very much his own and if helps the wary or the new customers who came through the recasting announcement to the Companion Chronicles format, so much the better.

A story exploring Ben, and his relationship with Jamie? I'm on board! They had a sort of rivalry on TV (probably because the writers didn't know what else to do, an older brother/younger brother dynamic would have been interesting), and this is the first time their relationship will have been explored on audio.
