My slow foray through the early Bernice Summerfield audios continues! I definitely had some issues with this one....
- Okay, something is definitely wrong with this recording. For whatever reason, Benny's mic doesn't appear to be working properly, as her dialog is frequently delivered at a much lower volume than the other actors. It's not simply distracting—it makes the story kinda hard to follow.
- Making the intro purely instrumental is something of a godsend—now I don't have to worry about my eardrums bleeding from those terrible, terrible lyrics.
- (Though sometimes other characters get the bad mic—Brax, for example.)
- More audio issues: was this recorded on an airport tarmac? Just three scenes in and there are so many issues.
- Predictable but enjoyable story. Brax is fun, but a underused, I think.
- Shame there are so many audio issues. Not sure what the problem is, exactly (played from the app, which I think uses the m4b versions). Perhaps Big Finish lost the original audio data and had to recover it from an old CD or something? Or maybe the data was damaged somehow? I dunno, it's just really weird. I've never had any issues with sound quality before.
- (Well, beyond the fact that 100% of .mp3 files downloaded from the website are corrupted.)
- They play the theme music again at the end—but this time with lyrics. How cruel! And right when I thought I was safe....
