'Enhanced audiobook' - would that be EA style = full-cast plus narration? OK with me. It will be fun!
And Parker and 'm'lady' were always my favourites - I liked the spy stuff even more than the space stuff! - so this story sounds a great place to start.
(Only the DL is showing on the product page at the moment - Parker, bring round the CDs!)

The CD's are being sold on the GA site (though I believe purchasing a CD gets you a download link).

Oh, wow! You guys got the first John Theydon story, too, nice! It's a tie between Scott Tracy, Lady Penelope (got to admire a homeowner with enough foresight to bulletproof the glass and mine the estate for the invading militia) and Parker, for me, but this is... Wow! Again. Funny coincidence, but I was using Thunderbirds as an example during teaching yesterday. I ended up miming Sidewinder, the logging machine on stilts from "Pit of Peril", and they were absolutely enthralled. It's got timeless appeal in the truest sense of the word. Well done to Big Finish. That's a marvellous success.

I do find it amusing that because if Big Finishes audience this is being called an audiobook because it has narration despite having a full cast...which makes it full cast...but anyways 😁 exciting news hoping they’ll put the cds up soon on the GA site so i can see the price difference and decide. 16.99s not bad tho. Wonder if you’ll get a download with the physical release like a code or somthing.

HELL YES
My childhood nostalgia has never been more satisfied. First a tidal wave of Tenth Doctor content, now Thunderbirds.
Enhanced audiobook, sure why not. Likely the best way of transferring the very visual set pieces over to audio.

Thunderbirds...Stingray...Joe 90...UFO...and more Space 1999..
Oh yes...it was worth the wait. 🤓
As a child I grew up on reruns of some of these shows on Saturday mornings and during the School holidays, so if these are going to be either enhanced audiobooks or full cast productions (I'm massively assuming Space 1999 is confirmation that there will be a Volume 2) really doesn't matter to me one little bit. I'm in regardless. My nostalgia vein is waiting to be tapped and as long as the quality of the production is the usual high standard I say...start mining! 😁

Thanks, I've understood that now - I think. £19.99 for the CDs. Although I don't see any mention of a DL code/link for CD buyers, maybe the CDs and DLs are separate entities for this range?
I guess they might call the BF Holmes range 'enhanced audiobooks' now because there's a lot of narration which keeps the style of the original stories. Presumably that's the intention here too, since this is from a novel. It's a style of storytelling I enjoy, so I'm more than happy.

Let's see if I can embed this: the trailer was released by Gerry Anderson Productions about an hour ago: https%3A%2F%2Fsoundcloud.com%2Fgerryandersontv%2Fthunderbirds-terror-from-the-stars-trailer(I've also got the original out-of-print book here in my hand -- finding that was a story in and of itself -- when it hits release in May, someone give me a reminder and I'll post some of the Target-style illustrations.)

Thanks, I've understood that now - I think. Although I don't see any mention of a DL for CD buyers? I got both the Space 1999 cd sets through GA - those did explicitly state they included access to a download through BF. That isn’t mentioned this time. Seems to just be saying choice is CD version from GA or download from BF. Perhaps just an omission from the blurb at this point? It would be a shame. Though I still buy physical releases I listen using the BF app mostly when walking or in bed. I haven’t had to listen on CD to anything for years.

It just encourages the imagination beyond the marionette series. They just need to sound 'right' to be authentic to me. No desire for updating or big production values. Of all the BF Anderson revivals, this is to me the best since Terrahawks - and that's one I was blasé about back in the day - i.e. BF actually improved it in my estimation.

I wonder if Sophia Myles will make an appearance down the line?
Obviously not reprising her role of Lady Penelope over as another character entirely.

Missed a trick if not.

This announcement gave me a pang of nostalgia, yet when I was reading the article I didn't feel excited, which is a shame. I think it's because it's not original stories, nor is it the original cast. Obviously it's not going to be the latter, but I was hoping they'd be forging a new era for Thunderbirds. I don't think it's anyone's fault, but rather circumstances and presumably licencing. A bit of a Catch 22 really.
The trailer is brilliantly done, though. I don't think there's anywhere near enough soundbites of the cast to get a good opinion (except Justin T Lee's The Hood perhaps), but structuring it like the titles is inspired. That gave me the excitement the announcement itself didn't.
Enhanced audiobook is the best way to go. Those set pieces in the show are still brilliant now and very few of them are reactions from the characters, so having them react in the audio would feel odd.
Definitely one to think about; the quick turnaround between announcement and release makes for an impulse buy!

So, a further development: You know how I said, I had the original book? Well, in addition to the enhanced audiobook on CD or download (buyer's preference), they're also doing something else rather special. I'm often lamenting that I can't share the full text of these old curios, but for Terror from the Stars... It's no longer out-of-print. There will now an opportunity to pick up a reprint of the original book. For the first time since 1966 and in hardcover. Available in June exclusively from the Gerry Anderson Store.
