As Thunderbirds was the first Gerry Anderson show I watched during my childhood, I've already pre-ordered both the CD and the hardback. And don't the character impressions sound FAB!

Reading the blurb.... am I mistaken in detecting a hint of Mysterons?

As I pre-ordered the collector's edition CD, on the Gerry Anderson website, I'm currently waiting for the digital download to appear in my BF account.

It's now a question of whether I can patiently wait for the CD boxset to arrive next month or whether glowing reviews and the lure of nostalgia will find me typing an email to Big Finish confirming purchase for the download..

Just moments ago, I received an email from the Gerry Anderson Store who have given me access to a free download of the audiobook (only applies to those who pre-ordered the CD). Very generous of them to offer it, but I'm a bit surprised that they didn't link my order with my BF account, like with the two Space 1999 releases.

Hello everyone! Where does the story take place in the 'Thunderbirds' timeline? Tim. Not too long after the episode Martian Invasion according to this site. And, as promised, a Target-style illustration from the original 1966 paperback novella, in the tags below. {"Go ahead, John."}

Hello everyone! I've pre-ordered my hardback copy of 'Thunderbirds: Terror From The Stars'. I assume the item will be released in early June rather than late June. Tim.

Well this was a delightful way to spend a bank holiday afternoon. The format is perfect, the sound design is great (all the Thunderbirds’ distinct sounds are present and correct) and music is good (including recreations of bits of classic score). Production-wise, very well done.
The new cast are a mixed bag, some clearly aiming for recreations and others just putting their own spin on the character. Either is a valid approach, but it does make things a bit inconsistent.
If I was to be nitpicky, there are some areas which could have been trimmed (did we really need the details on how the car owner reported the car theft to the police) and the pacing becomes a bit bloated in the middle seemingly at the cost of the ending. Also the alien villain’s plot does seem to keep the Anderson tradition of having a really convoluted way of pulling off their plan, but that’s less a flaw and more a bit of inherent charm.
I have no idea if more of these are on the cards (haven’t finished the behind the scenes yet), but I would be very up for more. Original stuff is obviously the dream, but these takes on 60s novels will more than suffice.

It occurred to me I have a cardboard space background lying around. Ten minutes later...here’s that illustration recreated by some slightly battered old toys- I may be tempted to have a proper crack at some other scenes, but enjoy this 10 minute attempt.

Oh, hey, that's splendid! I think I might recognise the toys, I have the Tracy Island that goes with them. It was a Christmas present from... Oof, years ago.
Next moment of free time I get, I'll maybe snap a couple more images and post them up.

Hello! I had hoped to read the book along with the audiobook. Once I've checked out the anniversary episodes of 'Thunderbirds' on Britbox, I think I'll get onto checking out 'Terror From The Star' on the Big Finish app regardless of whether I receive the book or not.
Tim.
