Sounds good. I have a feeling I’m going to prefer the episodic format for these Ninth Doctor volumes going forward then the three part story arc of Ravagers.

At the end theres the leitmotif that was used quite heavily in ravagers. Do we think this is going to be the 9th doctors “theme” at big finish?

So exciting! Is it just me, or does it sound (haha) like we might be getting another sentient soundwave alien? Also: can't wait for the wacky adventures of D.I. John Smith! At the end theres the leitmotif that was used quite heavily in ravagers. Do we think this is going to be the 9th doctors “theme” at big finish? God I hope so. I find it very evocative of Murray Gold's score--the absence of which is the chief weakness of Big Finish's New Who offerings. Ravagers, in general, had a lotta great music.

Indeed, I think 9 arcs should mostly be implied and more internal. The individual stories should function separately on their own.

As much it would probably be fun to have say Fenric face off against the Ninth Doctor, I’d prefer just separate adventures rather than have him involved in huge story arcs. The episode format works rather well when you consider the fact he’s travelling alone after the Time War. Just travelling from place to place, helping where he can and maybe, just maybe re discover what it means to be the Doctor. It doesn’t exactly fit with the idea of a more optimistic Ninth Doctor that BF are using at the moment but it’s something at least.

Though to be fair, a single story(perhaps a two-parter) pitting Fenric and 9 against each other could be a wonderfully character based story.

You could almost do it in the vein of Solitaire where it’s just an extended conversation between the Ninth Doctor and Fenric. Naturally, over a game of chess. Or snakes and ladders. Although, if you were to do a two parter you could almost do something along the lines of if Fenric is defeated, then he’d apparently restore the Time Lords. He is an Elder God after all and it would be within his power to do so. All be utter rubbish of course at least that’s what the Doctor thinks. But there would always be this nagging doubt that Fenric was actually telling the truth. It’s definitely a draft of an idea at least.

...Perhaps more pertinently, Timothy X Atack is a playwright of some note who has written several other BF stories Plus worked on the Chinese remake of Humans for Roland Moore, and just won a place on a BBC drama scheme, so go him!

It's a tough one, and purely based on the details we have, but I think I'm looking forward to Girl, Deconstructed most of all. It seems to be set on present day Earth. I liked it when the Ninth Doctor got involved in a recognisable environment like that, he seemed at home there somehow. It all sounds very exciting.

I think Girl Deconstructed will get the audience buzz though the premises and snippet from the Trailer makes more intrigued for Planet of the End

Fellow in the chair there. He's not one of those aliens is he? That the Eleventh Doctor met up with? The ones that, once you look away from them, you cease to remember them? He looks like one.
What was I saying?

I think we have seen him before somewhere. I forget. Anyhow, reminds me of this chap who always gave me a fright on the closing titles of every ST TOS episode as a young kid..

Yes - It was a bit of spoiler when I finally saw the episode, that it was just a mannequin and a cherub. Shades of the fearsome Wizard of Oz perhaps.
