Looking over the coming titles and core cast listed in Vortex #82: The first three stories are a Fifth Doctor trilogy with Tegan and Nyssa, presumably set post- Arc of Infinity (but we already knew this). - 208. The Waters of Amsterdam by Jonathan Morris
- 209. Aquitaine by Simon Barnard & Paul Morris
- 210. The Peterloo Massacre by Paul Magrs
The next three stories feature (in order) the 5th, 6th, and 7th Doctors. This multi-Doctor trilogy features Geofrey Beevers and Alex McQueen. No regular Companions are listed among the cast. - 211. ...And You Will Obey Me by Alan Barnes
- 212. Vampire of the Mind by Justin Richards
- 213. The Two Masters by John Dorney
The three which follow next (#214, 215, 216) feature the 7th Doctor, MEL, and ACE. This isn't a combination I would have expected, but I'm certainly excited about the possibilities. We have no titles nor authors yet listed on the website. There will be an additional release (#217) in September, along with #216. The final three releases of 2016 do not appear in the latest Vortex, but according to the website they will feature the 6th Doctor and Constance Clarke.

Is it now the case that every JNT female companion has had two stints in the TARDIS? Nyssa: Young Nyssa and Older Nyssa Tegan: Logopolis to Time-Flight, Arc of Infinity to Resurrection of the Daleks Peri: Young Peri and Older Peri Mel: Looks like she's about to get another turn Ace Dragonfire to Love and War, Deceit to Set Piece. That only leaves the boys. And even being dead didn't stop Adric from coming back.

I originally thought that 211 next year might be the Seventh Doctor's final meeting with The Eleven, but now that more in known about the releases and having heard Doom Coalition I now don't have a clue about what the linking theme will be.
However I do hope that The Eleven or perhaps that will be The Ten and The Nine etc will meet the other Doctors at some point.

I am hoping that second trilogy turns out to be Goth Opera, Vampire of the Mind, and Blood Harvest. Two novel adaptations for five and seven, and a new story with six in the middle! (And of course four was in the Tv State of Decay)

Am I the only one that's beyond excited about the Mel and Ace reunion? I certainly hope not!

Am I the only one that's beyond excited about the Mel and Ace reunion? I certainly hope not! Personally after hundreds and hundreds of releases, I now try and temper excitment just for the sexy "headline" of a release like "The return of ______" or "______ meets _____" - especially with the main range I've been let down too much. Now I just want a decent story no matter the setup or gimmick.

That would be wonderful indeed if Tony returned for it.

When I was new to BF I don't think I listened to any current MR release. I was spending my money catching up on the first 50. Fires Of Vulcan is still one of my favorite 7th Doctor stories. Enjoy your time listening to all of it. You won't be sorry.

I don't think I'll listen to all, because, unlike the Classic TV series, there's no definite ending. I think I'd go mad trying to listen to everything, even just all the Main Releases.

Davygallagher you have hit the nail on the head, I am a little fed up also of "special" "never before", and the return scenario, I for one are happy as long as there is a decent story, and that will do me fine. I am not bothered about much else. I think sometimes, we get caught up with all the excitement of this Doctor with this villain, but ultimately what you really need is a dam good story, let's face it that is why so many of the classic episodes although dire and poor when it is compared to the special effects of today's T.V, their stories are so good that they keep me going back to them.

It seems completely overwhelming at first. I started listening to BF 2 years ago, and I never thought I'd be able to listen to most of it, let alone all of it. As of now, I have heard all but a dozen or so MR releases as well as a whole slew of others. I think it's around 500 BF releases total. Granted, for most of the last 2 years I worked buy driving from one place to another all day so I was able to get through most of them faster than most. But it's not really the speed, it's how addicting they quickly become. I choose audio over TV a lot these days. So however you manage your BF addiction (if you're not addicted yet, you certainly will be soon) enjoy it. And I'm glad that you found our forum.

I just checked and I own 82 of the MR releases so slightly less than 1/2. I never tried to listen to them all but managed to listen to most I want to thanks to the first 50 being so cheap and various sales. I also pick up a few new ones each year. Although I've come to realize I am more of a box-set preorder fan as I feel I am getting more for my money with those. There are still a bunch Of MR I want to listen to *cough Seven/Ace/Hex and the Klein trilogy" but I am amazed at how much Big Finish I also caught up with in a short time (started at the end of 2013, joined the forums in early 2014) I usually listen to an hr at work each day. It's come to the point that I am afraid I will run out of Big Finish to listen to daily. But I guess that is what relistens are for (And there are a few non Who ranges I haven't tried yet that I am curious about)

Kim, I think we started listening at the same time. I think I bought my first BF title in Dec. 2013. (It was Dark Eyes. Great story but wrong choice for my first audio.)
I ended up getting some of the Seven/Ace/Hex as full price (the only MR I have ever bought at full price) because I just couldn't wait any longer for a sale.

Selachian Gambit was my first (although I think Glorious Revolution was my first purchase). I literally just was looking for more 2nd Doctor stories. The novel selection was dire and I was like audios with Frazer that sounds cool. I was also listening to some of the missing episodes on audio at the same time so I realized I liked Doctor Who on audio. I never realized how sucked in I would get. My first main range audio was Colditz. I had no idea what the MR was when I listened but I have a thing for Prisoner of War stories so I was interested and it was only 2.99. The path to destruction is paved with the best intentions. No I love Big Finish. It actually made me more of a Doctor Who fan because I got to know Doctors and companions I didn't really know well from the TV series.

I quoted this elsewhere, I inadvertently got into Big Finish after I decommissioned the IT Infrastructure for a small independent record/book shop/chain that existed, after the death of the owner the family didn't want to continue with it, when I completed the work, I asked about a store room that was full of Cd's and the like, I have always been a keen music fan, the family said that make them offer for the stuff as most of it was not resale material but items the owner had "collected". I dropped on the mother load everything that BF had put out up to release 150 of the main range, and all the subsequent stuff. I made a donation to the charity that the family wanted in respect of their late relative and I walked away with boxes of CD's, there was other stuff as well, but it was mainly music from around the mid to late 50's which I sold on an passed the money back to the charity as before. That started three years ago, and due to my job, I managed to listen to all the Main Range within a year, along with all the other stuff. I can safely say I am massively addicted to Big Finish, and after joining the original forum have discovered that audio drama is actually vastly underrated and is a wonderful world. I also enjoy Graphic Audio, Audible (thanks to a recommendation on here the other day in fact), and other non BF stuff. I agree with kimalysong, it is a fantastic medium. Also I also must mention Antioch which is an online OTR station, with some real cracking old time dramas and reruns.

I'd love a proper non-AU multi-Doctor trilogy for that 211-13 slot.
Part 1-4 Fifth Part 5-6 Sixth Part 7-8 Fifth & Sixth Part 9-10 Seventh Part 11-12 all three.
