im sure you have seen the headlines and stories about russel davies farewell sarah jane. i thought a nice couple from australia was rather vague and wasnt the "HEY LOOK THEY"RE LESBIANS!"
the many articles took that for. but i guess it works though. i didnt watch a lot of 5 but ive heard quite a bit. but the doctor who as a show and the audios are pretty much romance free for like
99.9% of the adventures. so i think its a bit odd for fans to go looking for it. look at 8 dubbed the romantic one because of one kiss. thats all it took for him to stick out from the rest of the
doctors.
so i am wonder if big finish will start exploring nyssa and teagan's more romantic side of their relationship. today it seems fiction allover the place is getting inclusive diverse etc etc
look at the doctors baker street place in stranded. but i just cant picture nyssa and teagan that way. it would just seem so odd to all of a sudden have that element added to team 5. and the big
finish timelines for these 2 are pretty complicated. i just found out nyssa was part of the time war. ( see youtuber DAVIS and his broke canon vids) when did those 2 have time to fit it in? also
how did nyssa end upon earth? in the end im pretty happy for them considering some of things that have happened to some of the other former companions, its nice to have a happily ever
after. i just keep picturing teagan as a cranky old lady yelling at the kids in the neighborhood more then i picture her as part of a nice old couple from australia.

Honestly I’m not entirely sure it would work trying to squeeze it in.
Aside from that era’s policy on “hankey-pankey” in the tardis, nyssa’s story is complicated enough as it is!
I wouldn’t want it set during season 19, Teagan is more focused on leaving than forming a relationship. Teagan is gone for 19b so that’s out. There is a possibility in season 20, but that’s complicated by the older nyssa’s arc. Ignoring her family, the massive age gap between the characters at that point may be insurmountable. Imagine rekindling a relationship with someone you love a day after they left you, only for them it’s 50 years.
Not to mention you’ve got the time war in there complicating Nyssa’s life. Basically, every time nyssa’s has left the Doctor, she’s been in places it would be impossible for her to reach Teagan from.
That being said, if there is anyone that could create the relationship between the characters and make it work, it would be Big Finish. I know that they could do it justice.

Unless Big Finish are going to retcon the older Nyssa audios then I Sincerely doubt that they are going to develop a romance between Tegan and Nyssa

I can’t see it happening myself. Mainly because of the numerous reasons already stated above.

Honestly in my head cannon Tegan met a lady on on earth who happened to be called Nyssa and got with her, i think its way less complicated and excuses the fact that Teegan and Nyssa never had any chemistry like that did they?

Big Finish has already bent over backward to get Ace's fate to match a throwaway RTD line from Death of the Doctor, I am sure they will do the same for Nyssa.
Lets face it Big Finish don’t exactly need an excuse to bring back Nyssa time and time again, given there’s two releases featuring her post-Terminus coming out soon already.

It struck me as a very odd thing to write. (Is it a deliberate wind-up? Can two women go to a funeral together and not get called out as lesbians? What? What?)

if BF wants to follow up on that storyline, maybe the Nyssa, Tegan ends up with is from an alternate universe that way it doesn’t interfere with the main Nyssa’s timeline.

I mean it’s not like Big Finish have completely followed up on what was suggested in Death of the Doctor.
There was that offhand comment that Ian and Barbera apparently hadn’t aged since the sixties yet come Susan’s War we are presented with a very clearly aged Ian.

Well that bit was only a rumour...and there is one Big Finish story which actually kinda hints at that...

I definitely think it was written as a bit of a wind up myself. And to get us lot chattering and debating about it. Let’s face it, this very thread is proof that it worked.

I took that to mean everyone - or at least Clyde - assumes they're a couple, not concrete proof that they are one! As for how Nyssa ended up in modern day Australia, who knows?!

The theory includes different versions of Nyssa's timeline including one from 'Asylum', one from 'Cobwebs'-'The Entropy Plague' and one from 'Farewell, Sarah Jane'.

See, I just put them in that order on a linear timeline, but a Nyssa Multiverse works fine too! (It might be cool to see, say, the Ninth Doctor investigating a spatial anomaly in Australia and running into Tegan. Then they discover the anomaly leads to E-space!)
