There’s a horror movie called Alien? That’s really offensive. No wonder everyone keeps invading you.

Is nobody going to mention that Tegan was terminally ill 15 years ago in The Gathering?

Maybe Tegan ended up with Kamelion, who took on the form of Nyssa for the funeral? Or maybe they were from season 20, representing Five who didn't want to risk a paradox by going to the funeral himself?

When it was offered, Tegan was very much against that. But, she was noted to still be alive at least four years after her 12-month prognosis in The Gathering, so it's possible she went into remission (or the brain tumour wasn't as inoperable as believed then). The word on the grapevine was that she was campaigning for Aboriginal rights back home. For the Brisbane area, that'd be primarily the Turrbal (or Mianjin) people. In amongst the rumours of other companions, it was believed that a Dorothy McShane was running the A Charitable Earth organisation. A charity to help orphans and the underprivileged. I believe, in Ace's rather snarled-up timeline, it was something that happened long after her Time's Vigilante days, post-Gallifrey. In terms of Nyssa and Tegan, I could see them being mistaken as a couple. Their friendship is certainly close enough to give that impression from afar. I don't get the impression that the two of them enjoyed one another's company that way, though. It was much more likely that Nyssa would've made Tegan the godmother of her children than anything else (if that's a Trakenite practice). Tegan was the first (and I think the only, but I'd have to double-check that) person she told about her husband, Lasarti, after her post- Terminus return to the TARDIS. During The Heroes of Sontar, when she thought she was dying.

I wanted to like it, but it was just too hard to. I agree with what Tim Bradley said in his review of the story. It probably didn’t sit well with most fans and actually, even Janet Fielding criticised it.
