Had this had a CD release it would be a must buy purchase, sadly physical release purchasers have been overlooked so i doubt I'll ever get to hear it as i don't do downloads.

I doubt it's CD purchasers being overlooked - the thing's 8 hours long, which wouldn't fit on 6 discs (the maximum number of discs that can fit in a jewel case). The costs to produce, and therefore the price of the release, would probably be too high to justify. I'm also a CD buyer normally, but I'll be getting this one at some point. It seems to me like they have a fair enough reason to make it download-only.

I always thought 8/10/12 hour long (etc.) audiobooks on loads of CD's were very cumbersome, so I find downloads are actually the perfect format for long books.

That's your choice then isn't it? "Don't do downloads" but can manage to post on a forum. Sounds like a case of cutting off your nose to spite your face tbh.

Hmmm. I wonder if I should get this. I love the third Doctor and I loved Terror of the Master also narrated by Culshaw. I liked it even more than Masterful. But Cybermen.... they can be a bit one note.

But Cybermen.... they can be a bit one note. From what Simon Guerrier's said about the story, it sounds as though he's given the Cybermen quite an interesting role in the story.

I understand people wanting a CD release, but this range was designed specifically in response to declining CD sales. BF haven't made it download only just to annoy people who prefer physical media.

If I'm honest, Audiobooks are the perfect listen for download as you need not worry about changing disks or whether you can load them all up in the CD magazine changer for the car. It is where Audible scores for me when I want a long leisurely listen. Its not an item as such but a long reading of a book. Full cast Dramatisations running at a couple of hours I want to have as a CD release just as one would with a DVD or Blu Ray (or Vinyl record), but I would be equally as likely to listen to the digital version despite having it on CD anyway. So I appreciate what I interpret Timelord007 says in not being a download person. Its not that you won't listen to the digital version, buy that it does not really exist as an owned piece if you do not have a physical copy. The crunch for me comes to price point. Two hours of full cast drama with DL and a CD chucked in, or four times that for a reading without physical ownership. Its like whether you would buy trading cards digital only or prefer to collect the glossy printed versions?
