I bloody love Shaun Parkes. Very excited for this. Anyone remember about 2009ish when he was making a breakthrough into being a named star with his own show, Moses Jones? Really cool cop show. His sidekick, Twentyman, was played by a certain Matt Smith.
He was sensational in last year's Mangrove, part of Steve McQueen's season of films about West Indies immigrants to the UK, Small Axe.

I very rarely dip into the Torchwood range, but will be making an exception for this. Shaun Parkes is brilliant. Admittedly I’d forgotten about the Torchwood reference in The Impossible Planet!

Preferred "Moses" to "Luther" TBH and yes another great turn in Mangrove. Regards mark687

Moses Jones had real potential. I do love Idris Elba though and wouldn't switch him out. Those racist England "fans" abusing the players should be made to watch Small Axe as part of their sentence. It's one of the most powerful pieces of TV in recent history.

Very good indeed
Almost TW does Indiana Jones, I did keep humming "When will I be Famous" every time the Emperor spoke though LOL.
There's also a similar theme to another of this month's releases.
Overall a very good release

Really enjoyed this. As Mark says, Indiana Jones vibes with a suitably sci-fi slant. I quite enjoyed the world building in this one, it did a fair bit for a pacy story that changes locations.
Shaun Parkes is fantastic, but I thought it was Amanda Shodeko that stole it playing Chloe. It touches upon similar beats to the recent Ninth Doctor set, but the different dynamic and environment prevents any duplication.
I hope we do get more from Zachary Cross Flane. Parkes really helps, but he’s interesting in himself and it appeals in a way that standard Torchwood doesn’t always.

Agree with what everyone's said so far. One of my favourite Torchwood releases of the year so far, and I actually can't find anything to fault it on.
Someone give James Goss a medal!
Also, would be great to hear more from Zachary Cross Flane in the future.

Very solid, though not without flaws.
The biggest plus is the cast, with Shaun Parkes returning in great form and Amanda Shodeko's Chloe outdoing Margaret Clunie's Fred in this month's 9DA. And the rest of the cast is quite good as well. However, the plotting isn't as well developed as it should be, with a weird balance of going too quickly at some points and way too slow at others. Another draft might have helped that though.
I do really hope that this is the first of many stories with Parkes, as he is a coup and could very well lead Torchwood at Big Finish imo.

That was a decent side step into the future. Zachary is quite a good lead and Chloe made a nice foil for him. I hope there’s more exploration of this time period as it’s really quite different to the other eras.

Just bought and binged a lot of Torchwood today, this was totally a stand-out story, but damn that end made me mad. Like, it wasn't bad, but {Spoiler About VERY End}Wiping poor Chloe pissed me off so much, especially since it was ALL of her. I thought it might only be a piece of her memory, but it was all of her. I hope she appears again in her future having re-learned everything, aware of the fact that Zachary did that to her. but the way it's set up makes me think that she won't be herself again, instead some new person. God that ending ruined me!

Just finished the story. Another great look into the far future. I also hope we see more of these characters again.
Considering what happened with the Ood in The Impossible Planet/The Satan Pit it was nice dramatic irony them was saying how much better the Ood would be vs the synths. This does make me want to watch those again to see Zachary Cross Flane in action again.

I must admit for a second there I thought the secret within the Cobalt Vault would be the preserved but still living body of Captain Jack Harkness! As an immortal he’d no doubt have access to a great wealth of information on Torchwood and could serve as a living archive.
Obviously that turned out not to be the case but for a moment there I was wondering.

Nice cloak and dagger story, with lots of action and derring-do. Great performances by the cast. Just the resolution is the usual Torchwood "We are the biggest monsters out there, even the most sophisticated "Bond villain" with an elaborate plan will not stand a chance against our cold blooded murder". This is exactly the reason I find many Torchwood audios tiresome, because they always work along these lines. As soon as it was clear it would turn out this way again, I was a bit "ho-hum". There are some exceptions, like the audios with Andy and Billis Manger, but this is not one of the exceptions. But anyways, before we come to the resolution, there is lots of fun action to be had.

I hated that one, too. Just to emphasize the point that Torchwood are the cold-blooded schemers in the background.
I think that point had already been made before with dealing with the villain.
