Moving on,
Interesting to see how this'll impact Rose2 - just short term or will she be the companion for S14?

As to DW filming Ncuti and Yasmin don't have to start principal filming till at least Jan next year and it would still be a reasonable shooting time for a series I'd thought. Regards mark687

I have seen the petition online to have him Knighted. He would thoroughly deserve it!

Another thing I'd like to comment on is the age question: lot of people trumpeting that Gatwa is our first Millennial Doctor. We are coming up to, if not on, seeing the first writers, directors, actors etc. working on the show's whose nostalgia frame is from, well, 00s NuWho rather than Classic. Exhibit A:

So it looks like RTD may have started filming (?!). He posted on his twitter pictures of an outdoor setting. codename "Nolly" not sure if this is for Who or something else.

Heads up - Nolly is RTD's new ITV drama, it's a biopic about actress Noelle Gordon from Crossroads, a famous and long-running soap opera that was contemporary to Doctor Who (not Coronation Street, so correction). It's his last original before his new era kicks in. If you see Helena pictures or anything looking 60s-80s-ish, it's likely from that.

I think Coronation Street was taken off Aussie tv in the 80's sometime.. I do recall it being on I was in primary school so had to be middish 80's.

Rather than comment on the slate, sadly this dropped. CBBC, the once home of Sarah Jane Adventures, going online only in three years (because it worked out great for BBC3, right?): www.theguardian.com/media/2022/may/26/bbc-announces-raft-of-closures-cbbc-four-online-onlyOf course, this'll affect any (potential) kid-friendly spinoffs RTD may be cooking up, but it's bigger than Who. Losing a broadcast kids channel to online is a loss of access to poorer families, as well as the evergreen issue of online safety. Never mind how this'll impact budgets, jobs, residuals and the types of shows being greenlit.

I just checked, and both Jodie Whitaker and Matt Smith are millennials. But I suspect it's a fairer point w/r/t the writers and directors, because for the most part the folks getting those jobs seem to be considerably older than the actors being cast.

DWM’s editor sounds very happy about RTD2’s prospects for DWM this month. This issue does have a piece by RTD about the announcement of Gatwa and he promises to start doing full Production Notes again later in the year (after Centenary’s aired I’d assume) which Chibnall has only done very sporadically.
This issue does also have a complete lack of any Chibnall era content. Even the comic is given over to Peter Cushing’s Dr Who (ahead of blu-Ray releases of the Dalek films they’ve got a few features on them, so it’s not totally random). The future is here it seems.

Yes its fascinating isn't it? RTD unashamedly feed the Media keep the public enthused, where as Chibnail tell them nothing, change the fundamentals in a way the viewing public can't get , still tell them nothing, so go looking for a reaction and the rest as they say.
