Do you want to consider combining it with the other sports thread? I don't think there necessarily needs to be a distinction between current sports news and posts that are looking back at past sports events.
Just a suggestion, though. If you want to let the thread rest, that's fine also.

Been watching a few classic Brazilian Grand Prix's in the past week and a half.
1984 Brazilian Grand Prix: Ayrton Senna's Grand Prix debut.
1986 Brazilian Grand Prix: Nelson Piquet and Senna finishing first and second on home turf.
1993 Brazilian Grand Prix: Ayrton Senna's second and last home win.
2012 Brazilian Grand Prix: the race where Sebastian Vettel fought back from a first lap incident to win his third world title.

2014 British Grand Prix
Notable for: a 1-hour delay because of a damaged barrier caused by a crash for Kimi Raikkonen. Lewis Hamilton winning on home soil.
Fun fact: I attended that race. The only F1 race I’ve attended so far.

Interesting comment towards the end about women having to be allowed to drive in Saudi Arabia before they could host an FIA sanctioned race. (That happened in 2018.)

Great to see Max Verstappen win the F1 Championship. I don’t watch too many F1 races all the way through but today’s race was really exciting. Lewis Hamilton winning the F1 Championship yet again would have been very boring... so it’s nice to see a new name on the Championship.

My all time favourite player Rafa Nadal winning the Australian Open for the second time in a Herculean effort & now is the leading mens grandslam champion.
This guy is humble, respectful & unlike a certain Serbian imbecile Nadal is likeable.
